nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted February 22, 2013 Have you EVER been afraid of something as a child or being an adult?
Amber 70 Report post Posted February 22, 2013 Still not crazy about heights...used to climb trees when I was a child and then get afraid when I looked down and could not come back down without help. Kinda like a cat I guess......I remember one time several of the neighbors stayed with me until after dark trying to get me down, LOL! Crazy kid.... Rick 156 Report post Posted February 22, 2013 I'm afraid of falling down an endless pit. Really. I was once caving with a friend and I was so scared of falling forever that I froze and had to be dragged out of the cave.
WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted February 22, 2013 Maybe to speak before an audience..but anything else, no. You hear the word cancer and nothing can ever come close to scaring you. Ever. You get scared in the hearing the word....and then you get going.....
Amber 70 Report post Posted February 22, 2013 ^ that is true. It is a BIG word. However it puts a lot of things into perspective.
SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted February 22, 2013 Leeches. I've always had a deathly fear of leeches.
agirl 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2013 Yes! Rats and heights! In college I even cut class in anatomy and physiology when we had to dissect rats. I had nightmares about it.
Liberty 191 Report post Posted February 23, 2013 (edited) My greatest fear is not dying of old age. Haha. I cannot stand the thought of having unfinished business. If I died, I would want to be really old or have a while to say goodbye and do lots of things with an illness. I've never had any other fears. Spiders, heights, etc no big deal. I think rats are cute I always wanted a pet one.^ Susan, I've never heard of anyone having a deathly fear of leeches! That does sound scary. I've never seen any in person before. I hate clowns, but I wouldn't say I'm genuinely afraid of them. Edited February 23, 2013 by tompetty1976

You get them sometimes swimming in a lake. At least, thats where I've gotten them. I totally freak out screaming when I get a leech. They are slimy and stretchy and gross, and they suck your blood. To get rid of them without touching them, you pour salt on them. Then they shrivel up and die. Yuck! TomFest 576 Report post Posted February 23, 2013 I don't like heights. I have no problem with flying, but high up in a building or something? Nope. The other thing that surprised me was the last time I had an MRI. I absolutely friggin' hated that. I've had them before with no problem, but the last time was a nightmare. I can't explain it. Marion 1,411 Report post Posted February 24, 2013 Yuck Susan! That's the worst! I always remember that scene in the movie The African Queen when Humphrey Bogart got them all over him. YUCK! I don't think we have them in Florida. I've never seen one anyway. I'm pretty claustrophobic when it comes to tunnels in the ground or confined spaces. Funny though, I'm not afraid of MRI's.
