Question of the day 1/21/13

Recommended Posts

It's 9 degrees right now. We had a light dusting of snow overnight, but it's almost gone...the temperature of the ground is higher than that. It's been over a year now since we had an inch of snow in Chicago, breaking the record every day.

How I wish I was where it is 70!!! As I write this, the temperature is 3 degrees. Tonight's forecast:

Mostly cloudy with snow showers. Low of 3F with a windchill as low as -8F. Breezy. Winds from the WNW at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Chance of snow 50% with accumulations up to 1 in. possible.

Quite cold today in Seattle, and for the last several days. Strangely though, if you go up into the mountains, it's quite warm - into the 60's. There is some extreme temperature inversion going on at higher elevations.

I was just driving home after spending the afternoon in the park with my granddaughter. I was thinking: this is my absolute favorite weather: sunny

and warm but not hot, cooling off at night. It probably reached about 70 today.

We've had a VERY cold (unusual for this area) winter so far and I'm just loving

this warmer weather. : )
