Question of the day 1/4/13

Recommended Posts

I had a great time this morning with friends for breakfast. We talked about old times as kids and high school and how much trouble we used to get into. We laughed so hard, people in the restaurant thought we were on something!! Might go out to lunch tomorrow with the daughter and then have her and her B/F over for Sunday dinner. Other than that, I'll be doing what I do best, NOTHING!!!!!!!

^ Happy birthday Rick!!!

Love your quote! Gram Parsons was from the town I live near (Waycross, GA), so we are very in tune with your statement. We have a Gram Parsons tribute weekend in September that is full of lots of music and bands.

As for my weekend plans....relax!! Classes start back on Monday....:(

The Bachelors of Austin Debutante Ball. My sister-in-laws third daughter is being presented. I've never been to a debutante ball, and I have no idea what I will think of it. Supposedly, this one is all about the party, so I'll probably like it. I'll have to report back on Sunday.

Football! Our Seahawks going into D.C. to take on the Redskins. I'd like to be optimistic, but we don't have a great history of playoff wins on the road. It's been 30 years since we won a road playoff game. Ouch.

It was fun! It was a huge blowout party with food, drink and music (three bands). I'd say there were 500 people there. The flowers/decorations were gorgeous. I got to see some of my brother's childhood friends and meet some new ones. My niece was absolutely stunning, as were all the debutants (but Whitney was the prettiest, of course!), and everyone looked beautiful in their fancy clothes. It was fun getting all dressed up. We called it a night at 1:30, but the party went until 4:00. When we got up at 8:30 this morning, there wasn't a trace of any of it left in the hotel!

Just an aside, Ben Crenshaw's daughter was a debutant and my niece said her Oscar de la Renta dress cost more than a car! She also wore silver platform shoes (the other girls wore ballet slippers) and could barely walk down the stairs!

(Thank you Sheila, that's very kind. I hope to find a picture with my dress somewhere and I'll post it.)
