nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted November 5, 2012 Do you think that Senators and Congressmen should be limited to a certain number of terms like the President is?

nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted November 5, 2012 I say YES. They should have a 2 year term with up to 4 terms (8 years like the Prez). If they can't get anything done in 2 years, they don't deserve a 2nd term. This policy will get rid of a few good people after 8 years, but that's better than having a bunch of idiots there for a lifetime!!

SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted November 5, 2012 I think maybe congresspeople should just have one term. Then they would work for the people, and not to just get re-elected. Then, if they're good, they can run for the Senate, where our experienced legislators could work. If a senator is doing a bad job, he/she would have lots of former congresspeople waiting in line to take their job. Yeah, I like this idea.
Rick 156 Report post Posted November 5, 2012 No. It's a good thing is you have a wonderful representative and a bad thing if you don't. But I'd hate to throw away the good ones.
Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted November 5, 2012 Hell yes! I'm sorry but even if they're good they probably won't be for long. It seems corruption in D.C. is inevitable. I will say I'm more inclined to get rid of the lobbyist they seem to be at the root of a lot of the evil in Washington.
kelly 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2012 did anyone watch 60 minutes last night? It made me insane! I wanted to knock Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell's heads together. I think we should stop paying them until some things get done.
