Question of the day 9/18/12

We have about 2000 members here and most show up everyday. They question things and ask for things and that's a good thing so the Farm can improve and become better. My question for today is WHY can't everyone just take a turn every month or so to post a question of the day or a poll of the day? It's not that hard!!! You all have something to say or something on your mind, and the last time I checked, you still have the freedom to speak, so let's try it!!

Um, I wasn't sure what the proper etiquette was... I see most the questions\polls posted are from members that have been around for some time and wasn't sure I've been around long enough... is there a schedule?

There is NO schedule, and as a member, you can post what you like. Nothing has changed, if you want to ask a question, please do so. Us old timers are getting tired......lol.

Linda/Ref really did so much for this Farm. Every single day, every single week...for so many years...so many interesting questions, polls and tidbits were posted. Fred would tell me something he just heard and I would always say...ohh, that was posted at the Farm already.

^ it's easy Carol, give it a try. When you start a new thread in Depot Street, title it poll of the day and date. ask a question and scroll down. You'll see a box to check to post a poll, check it. Under that will be a box for the number of answers you want to post (default is 4), just put in the number you want. Click submit and it will take you to another page. Type in your question and then move on to type in your answers/choices. Click "Submit" and you're all set.

Nurk, you are a little off on the "members" who visit here every day. We may have a lot of lurkers stopping by but they are not members and at best there are 25 - 40 members who stop by and maybe 10 of them post.....not 2,000 by a long shot! We were are pretty small group and things are pretty quiet around here.

Susan made the suggestion a few months ago that we should all take turns posting questions. If you stop by here in the morning and nobody has posted a question and you've got one, post away! It's nice to have fresh questions.

Nurk, I'd be more than happy to help out. I really appreciate you, Susan, Patty, Marion and Victoria continuing this daily farm tradition. You ALL deserve a big THANK YOU for that!!!

I enjoy the questions of the day and the polls and try to answer most days. I say let's keep this place fun. If you log on in the morning and have the time and a question in mind, go for it!

If not, you shouldn't feel like you don't deserve to be here just because you haven't posted a question or poll of the day.

Nurk, don't feel pressure to post questions/polls if none has been posted. Just do it when you feel like it. Some days we may not have a thread, but that's OK. Someone will come up with ideas soon. I don't have ideas every day, but when I do, I post a question and/or a poll. Everyone should feel free to post in these threads whether they initiate the threads or not. We're all just here to have fun.

I didn't mean it to sound as if I was complaining or yelling. Just trying to drum up some member participation, so all 2000 members can join in on the fun.

I was just trying to point out to you that only a fraction of the 2,000 members even drop by here. Since I've been doing the admin these past few months we've only had about 10 people sign up to be members and I don't think any of them have even posted. A lot of people just come around or sign up to be members when a tour is going on and they are all excited about their show. Then when the thrill is gone, they go away till the next time. Some people sign up to get the BT show or other offerings but never post. The Farm is just not that active right now because nothing is going on with the band. It's just the way it is.

I love that you brought this up, Nurk because it will remind everyone that they can post a question if they want to. We do need some new questions! Come on everyone, get your thinking caps on!

Thanks Marion, I understand 2000 ppl aren't here everyday or anyday. I was just trying to get ppl fired up to be more active.
