nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted June 27, 2012 Do you think TPATH should make a movie like The Beatles did?
bm29759 80 Report post Posted June 27, 2012 Ironic you ask, I've collected some Tom Petty Laserdisc (yes, Laserdisc) and I'm finally in the process of capturing them to my PC and making DVD's out of them... Anyhow yesterday I was capturing "A Bunch of Videos and Some Other Stuff" (capture looks great) and was thinking the same thing. Plan for the evening is to capture Take the Highway I wish I had a copy of "MTV Heartbreakers Beach Party"...
TomFest 576 Report post Posted June 27, 2012 Maybe 30 years ago, but not now. Concert films only at this point.
Rick 156 Report post Posted June 27, 2012 I voted "no," as I don't think that, outside of documentaries and video collections, too many bands have made good scripted movies since The Beatles did. The Dave Clark 5's "Having A Wild Weekend" is simply awful. So is Herman's Hermits' "Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter" (on TCM tomorrow night). The only other band film I remember enjoying was The Monkees' "Head," but, then, it was like one big Monkees TV show. It's also on TCM tomorrow night. Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted June 27, 2012 The movies are nice but I don't need it. I do enjoy the documentaries though.
SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted June 27, 2012 No, Tom has had bad luck being in films. They've all been pretty bad. Documentaries are great!
agirl 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2012 I love the documentaries, but a movie, no.
