SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted March 31, 2012 I love family photos or photos of our lake, blown up and framed. I also like TPATH posters framed and in my bedroom/office. We have a few store-bought paintings, and some wonderful paintings done by my grandmother. She painted my dad's farm that he grew up on, and our cabin when it was just a little box on the lake. My brother and I will have a hard time deciding who gets which of Grandma's paintings once dad is gone. It's about the only family heirlooms we have. Also 3 original paintings done by an artist who is a good friend of mine (used to be boyfriend). The only other thing is a photograph of Tom Petty and Bob Dylan taken during the last show of the 1987 tour. The photographer friend of mine who took it framed it and gave it to me a few years ago. All of the paintings save one are my own, some poster prints, Japanese prints and a couple wood carvings - one of camphor wood, one of manzanita. I think the reason why is a combination of finally owning some walls of my very own (in my own house, finally) and painting the walls myself. I don't think I can stand actually putting holes in them!
