If you continue to get calls, go to "Do Not Call" site and file a complaint. Write down the number that called you on which of your phone lines, their name, time, date and if they left a message or not. Fill in ALL of the blanks, 2 short pages and submit it. I do it all the time. I keep a sheet of paper by the phone with a pen to write down the info before it disappears from the screen, so you have to move fast!

Certain groups such as police, fire and gov agencies are exempt and can still call for donations.

Absolutely!! Doesn't stop those aggravating "robo-calls" from politicians though! Where can I sign up for that? I made a promise not to vote for anyone who calls my house.

no - never bothered. I'm not home during the day anyway, so they usually just hang up when my voicemail kicks in.
