OttoSporteman 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2012 Hi there! I've been a long time member in the official Tom Petty forum, from the early 2000 years, been away for a while and then vanished when it became a paid subscription to be a member of the forum... Turns out I've come to realize a dream: I'm from Brazil and I'll be flying to Europe to catch some shows in June and I'm registering here so I can be in touch with other fellow fans and perhaps we can even meet either on this tour or in the US on the next (my next big dream :003:) Well, that's it! Speking about myself, I'm a Software Engineer from Brazil, I play the drums, I write short stories for local magazines and webzines, I help my girlfriend with her lamp store (www.lampetit.com.br) and I'm a big fan of Tom Petty, Guns N' Roses, Roger Waters and Sheryl Crow. I love movies and going out to dinner and been learning to cook for the last couple of months. Never saw Tom Petty live, this will be my first, given geographies, distances and costs... My main objective in life is to be satisfied with what I can gather and call my own, without stepping on anyone's shoes. My next goal is to learn how to play the piano... Well, I guess that paints an overall picture of me and if you want to have more detail, please ask!

Liberty 191 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 Welcome to the forum! Glad you are going to get to see TP! He's so great... ahhhh. PS Piano isn't too hard! I prefer learning guitar (It was easier for me) but Piano is super cool, and when you learn it, it will help you learn nearly any instrument! Good luck, have fun, and once again, welcome to Mudcrutch Farm! It sucks that the tompetty.com forums went paid only and it's "so difficult" to maintain a calm forum. Oh well... OttoSporteman 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 Hi folks, thanks for the warm welcome to the forum! Yes, Lizzie, Otto is my real name... Altough I'm Brazilian, I'm from a German family, so Otto was a natural choice - even on the country of caipirinhas and carnaval (which I hate btw). I'm really anxious about seeing TP for the first time.. I still don't know about the setlist and I'll try to keep a low profile and not read what's gonna be played so I can have some surprises! :003:

wild1forever 152 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 Welcome to the Farm, Otto! I can't help but wonder if I'm the only person here who knows what a caipirinha is (:icon_laugh:); my daughter is currently living in Chile and has traveled to other South American countries. I look forward to hearing about your first TPATH show!

I look forward to hearing about your first TPATH show! Yeah, well, a caipirinha is a drink made originally with lemon, sugar and cachaça. Cachaça is the brazilian tequila or the brazilian vodka if you'd like.. :003: Hope your daughter is having the best of times around here!
