The next day I was off to the record store to buy it, and the picture sleeve of the single was the first time I saw what The Beatles looked like. Nothing was ever the same after that. Lots of songs I adore, have listened to for hours on end, and what not, but the mix of all the music I love is what changed my life and put me in the direction I am headed. I became a Petty fan because I watched the RDAD documentary on TP, or else it would be a Tom Petty song... but it's not. I was just kind of hit with all of them at once even though I had heard them vaguely not knowing who they were by all my life. On another note, happy birthday to me!
