Question of the day 1/29/12

Recommended Posts

I don't plant anything... can't. Don't want to. Too much work.

My grandpa plants: cabbage, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, lettuce, butternut squash, sometimes turnips I think, and watermelon (though he's not very good at growing it) and then old fashioned Musk Melon... He sometimes tries to grow berries, but he can't really get those right.

Then he has flowerbeds all over his property that he plants. His barnyard and around his house looks like a cross between a really nice public park, a golf course, and a botanical gardens.

I used to grow really good tomatoes every year. However when I moved to the place I live now, the soil is so bad, it won't grow very much. I did have a beautiful rose garden and lots of flowers etc, but I have a degenerative arthritis now and am not able to do some of the things I used to do. I do love growing vegetables and flowers. Now I go to a farm not far from here and buy the vegetables so I can get good, Georgia tomatoes without having to do the hard work.
