Patty Petty 9 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 I said central a/c but we also have many ceiling fans throughout the house that we use too.

Magnolia 171 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 No A/C here. I have a ceiling fan only. Usually it's enough but there are a couple weeks out of the year I'd probably turn on A/C.
SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 We have a wall unit, but we rarely need it. We don't often have days in the 90s. Usually fans will do.
wild1forever 152 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 No A/C here. Thankfully, it always cools off at night no matter how hot it gets during the day. We leave the windows open overnight and close them first thing in the morning; that usually keeps the house cool for most of the day.
weird monkey 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 Evaporative cooling, works pretty well except for a few days in August when it is too humid. I do have a wall unit A/C in my studio.
Rick 156 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 We have A/C, but I don't turn it on unless it gets really hot out.
AngelDream 16 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 Have a window unit A/C in the bedroom to cool the bedroom, hallway and bathroom, have other (portable A/C) in living room to cool LR and kitchen with ceiling fans in LR and bedroom....it's get super hot here in the summer, over 100+ on alot of days and both work great for this little house. emmie 2 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 Central air conditioning, but we have ceiling fans in most of the rooms too which work well. I'm glad to have air conditioning on the extremely humid/hot days but to be honest, I prefer just leaving windows open and relying on the fans. I don't like that sealed off feeling you get with central air.
agirl 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 I have central and we also use fans to keep the cost down.
Marion 1,411 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 Central A/C runs constantly all summer. Our electric bill runs $300+ in the summer but around $100 in winter.

KansasPettyFan 1 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 You lucky Californians not needing a/c. I can't even fathom that. Central a/c here.
LizzieB 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Central a/c, which runs about 85% of the year. Next weekend we are going to a farm about an hour out of town and the house has no a/c or heat. I am really curious to see this place, as it's been designed to not need it. I just can't imagine that in Texas!
weird monkey 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 I'm curious too, Lizzie.
Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Lately I can't take the cold A/C, so it's been windows and fans. I'm perfectly comfortable and I can't believe it.
