nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted May 6, 2011 LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Paul McCartney was reported on Friday to be engaged to his New York girlfriend of four years in what would be the third marriage for the former Beatle. People magazine quoted an unidentified source close to businesswoman Nancy Shevell as saying that the pair planned to marry. McCartney's London spokesman had no comment on the report. "Nancy and Paul are getting married. Ring and all -- very exciting," the source told the U.S. celebrity magazine. "They have the right chemistry. They're both cool, chilled out and optimistic," the source added. Shevell, 51, a board member of New York's transportation authority, and McCartney, 68, have been dating for about four years. The pair posed for photos at a gala event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday. "We don't comment on this kind of thing," the singer's spokesman Stuart Bell told Reuters. McCartney was married for 29 years to American photographer Linda Eastman until her death of cancer in 1998.
