nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted September 11, 2012 ^^ Capitol knew the Beatles were recording 2-3 and even 4 albums a year back then and "Capitalized" on it to make more LP's for more money. The official Beatles catalog is the British releases on EMI (Parlophone), not the American Capitol releases. That's why when you buy a complete set of Beatle CD's, you'll never get the American versions, like Beatles 65, Something New, or The Beatles 2nd Album, because they never really existed. It was just a hoax on the USA from Capitol Records.
Rick 156 Report post Posted September 11, 2012 ^Yep, but being the obsessive crazy CD collector that I am, I bought the two Capitol Albums CD boxes, so I have all of the hoax albums on CD!!!

Rick 156 Report post Posted September 12, 2012 ^^And although they're not the way the Beatles meant us to hear them, it is the way we Americans heard them. Dave Marsh has written a wonderful book called "The Beatles' Second Album" that, while saying everything you said, adding more about the fake stereo we got, it was still a great album in its own right and a wonderful musical listening experience, personifying the Beatles.
