SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 Southern Accents with Rebels a close second. They seem very personal to Tom, and they fit the theme of the album.
Yer so bad 4 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 This is really difficult, but I choose The best of everything and Rebels
Nanten 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 Rebels. Southern Accents, Don't Come Around Here No More, and Spike are all close runners-up.
Refugee 7 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 Not a fan of this album at all. Ugh. It either has some very decent songs, or they just suck. It doesn't flow smoothly. I chose Spike. I love Don't Come Around Here No More live, but this album version is not my fave at all. Can't stand the horns or the Rebelettes.
wild1forever 152 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 Rebels, followed closely by Dogs on the Run.
AndreaM 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 Spike. The best version of it is a live B-side single to Don't Come Around Here No More. He barks, and howls, and curses!:icon_twisted:

Amber 70 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 Southern Accents - being southern myself and all. Close second is Best of Everything/Dogs on the Run. I love this album! I agree that they could have left off the horns and the rebelettes!!! Rebels is much better when they just sing it and turn down the volume on the instruments where you can actually hear Tom. It is obvious that they were in a funk when making this album. The songs are great, the music wonderful, but the production/arrnagements....not so much. Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) Rebels! It's got the best opening line in a song! The Best of Everything is a close second. Edited January 4, 2011 by Echosoftom
WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 Southern Accents. I know I was raised in NJ but I was born in Portsmouth, VA at the Naval Hospital. Lived in VA, SC and Jacksonville, FL until we moved up to NJ when I was 4. My Dad was born and raised in Greenville, S.C. until he joined the US Navy. After my Mom died, he married again (3rd time) and moved back down to Greenville. He spent the rest of his life there... The song reminds me of my Dad and also my Mom....just remembering those days long ago. It always brings tears to my eyes and I am so glad I got to hear Tom sing it live....just a beautiful touching song....

I love that our Dads were born and raised in the same place though I think my dad lost his southern accent when he moved to NY. I'm glad you got to hear it live. The part about his mother is really moving. I like Rebels. It has some great lines.
