nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted December 12, 2010 this always cracked me up, cuz Tom was asked what he learned on making TW3, and he said a lot. then says i don't know what i learned, except for some dominished chords (that George taught him), and George replies "you bastard" and they laugh about it. here's a bit of that interview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCqEeuokNR4

AngelDream 16 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 I remember this one sooo well, love it when George tells Tom to tell the interviewer about the "creative process" of making "She's My Baby" and they play acting the steps to "Wilbury Twist"...lol. Thanks for the memory, Ben!

nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 there is a dvd with all the TW videos and interviews out, but none as good as the bootleg boxset i got years ago from Russia. it was a chance i took and maybe wouldn't even get it, but it came and it's way better than the released version and has a lot more on it. i think it has 3 dvd's, have to look again. normandi 21 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 I love George explaining how he would not want to go on tour and be on stage for about the 3-4th time singing, "She's My Baby" and then looking around some hotel room in Philadelphia while his life was going on outside and passing him by. I think we sometimes forget how much they miss when on tour. Sure they make millions, but their life does pass them when they are on the road. George certainly had his fill of touring with the Beatles, he just wanted to make music with his mates.
nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted December 13, 2010 like george and the rest of the Beatles said, "we just wanted to make a record, and now it's all this." i agree with George and the TW about not touring, THEY did their stuff to get where they are. why prove it again, they are superstars alone and in their groups. i sure as hell wouldn't want to be in a crappy motel in Philly or anywhere just to sing "she's my baby" every night. i think it took a lot of years for the Beatles and other groups to realize what they lost as teens and older, cuz they were working 24/7 in a rock and roll world and never got to spend time at home with family, or even a wife and child. and as exciting as the rock world is, if you have a family back home, something is going to suffer.
