Cheap Trick to be backed by orchestra for "Dream Police" shows

Recommended Posts

An orchestra will augment the licks of Cheap Trick when the veteran rockers play songs from their 1979 album "Dream Police," along with other favorites, during a special series of shows in Milwaukee next year.

The event pairs the band with The Rhythmic Noise Philharmonic Orchestra & Mind Choir, in collaboration with production designer Butch Allen, producer Bello Nock and video/film director Jim Yukich. Six two-day stints are scheduled for January and February at the Northern Lights Theater at Potawatomi Bingo Casino.

"'Dream Police' was the first record where we felt the songs were well-suited for orchestration; that was a very expansive time for us musically," bassist Tom Petersson said, in a press release.
