Refugee 7 Report post Posted December 4, 2010 Does praying help heal the sick or is it just a fantasy?
SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted December 4, 2010 I think there is power in positive thoughts. Whether you call it prayer or not, if it raises the spirits of the sick, it can help them heal. I believe that good vibes travel through the universe.

wild1forever 152 Report post Posted December 4, 2010 I'm not sure. I think it might be part of a general placebo effect: if you believe something will make you better, it will.
Pawie 6 Report post Posted December 4, 2010 I think it is the comfort for both. The prayer and the person knowing someone prays. To share and care..

nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted December 4, 2010 i believe in prayer and GOD. i never met the guy....lol. but that doesn't mean ppl can't have dreams or believe. personally, when i asked for help though prayers to help save someone, it didn't work very well and my loved ones died. does that piss me off? YES! but i'll never give up. as all you know that have met me, i'm ME and will never change, that's what makes life interesting. after all, without ppl like you and me, wouldn't life be boring? Amber 70 Report post Posted December 4, 2010 I used to have a lot of problems with believing in prayer. However, after living this long, I have seen so many things I can't scientifically explain (healthcare worker for many years), that I do believe in prayer and that healing is not all based on science. As sugar says, it is a source of strength for me too.

Magnolia 171 Report post Posted December 5, 2010 Who knows? I have no idea. I guess we'll never really know for sure until we pass on to the next life, if there is one. I agree though that it brings comfort to those in pain.
