The do-nothing Senate and House seems like the biggest drain on the federal budget. Their pay should be tied to their results. Merit pay is a good idea for our representatives not just teachers.

We have a rat or two in our garage. It's been freezing out and they moved in. I am so freaked out. My neighbor put out a trap and nothing. The pest guy is coming this morning to put out bait. I am so rat phobic. My daughter has to back the car out and I walk around to the front to get in.

My gripe is people having excuses for everything...had a student contact me that HER SISTER is pregnant and due any day which may cause the student to not be able to make the dates posted on the last exam and final exam. WHAT??? I told her....if it isn't YOU in labor, it don't count. Good grief! They have a 3 days time span to take a test. How did people get to the point where everything revolves around their personal lives? The world is supposed to be put on hold for every little thing.

Then again, I once had a student who called me from the labor room to tell me she wouldn't be in class the next day (Friday). I could hear the doctor telling her to push, lol! I told her she could have gotten her husband to call, you know. He wasn't doing anything. She was back in class the following Monday. Now that's work ethic!

wishing i could shake this foul mood off of me. Wishing that i could control my sleep schedule, i'm scared my insomnia is returning. Wishing that the media would focus more on what is in the documents that wikileaks has revealed. Also wish that S.510 will not pass!
