I'm not a holiday person. I think it's stupid for one to wait for that one special day to do what you should be doing every day of your life. (Like Christmas, if you want to give that special someone a present, then do it! Why wait for Christmas?) It's just another day of the month and year.

I chose Fourth of July. Nice to have the day off from work and have an excuse to BBQ and see some local fireworks.

^ Me too, Marcia. I have such fond memories of Christmas. It's not just about giving gifts and if it is, I can see why it's not enjoyable to someone. I love the spirit of the holiday (when it's genuine) and I love seeing how the little ones in my family react to the holiday season. It was my Dad's favorite holiday too. I can still hear him humming Christmas carols while he's in the kitchen cooking. Remembering that is very comforting to me.

^ Me, three...that is a beautiful sentiment, Sharon. And it is sad people think of Christmas as just a gift giving day.....how shallow that would be. To me...even though I have long since been in a "church".......it is the birth of a baby named Jesus.
