I chose X-ray/Scan machines. I'm okay with that. But, I might have chosen profiling if I knew how effective it is. I say if profiling is what gets the job done then so be it.

I don't mind the scanner. I'd much rather have that than a patdown; although, if I did have to be patted down, I would request a cute security guy. I've been single for a long time, and I might enjoy being felt up. lol

Profiling. But not in the 'you look like a terrorist, or middle eastern' sense, but checking background information after a ticket is purchased. It would eliminate long lines, and if someone's information looked questionable or the ticket was purchased at the last minute, then they would be told in advance that they would be screened more thoroughly.

Since we have apparently given up our civil liberties anyway, when we choose to fly. I don't think this would be a big deal. And no it wouldn't go as smoothly as all that. Nothing ever will in this case.

Maybe the answer lies in the question, "How much is too much?" Flying is high profile, and when things go bad, they go bad for a size-able group of people. Statistically however, you are much more likely to be hit by lightning than be killed or injured on a plane.

Profiling! It is ridiculous seeing them using all this enhanced security on people that don't come anywhere close to the profile. I think we take being PC a little too far.

I agree. Search the suspicious ones and leave grandma alone. I know you can't tell by looking at someone, but all the ones who have caused problems so far have been easily identifiable.

I do a sort of "profiling" at work. It works for me, not to brag, but I am usually right when I make my judgement call. So, I think TSA employess can be taught that technique as well.

^the problem is, there is no taxpayer money to pay for TSA to train their employees. Should the US hire a private company to handle airport security?

I'd prefer a fast x-ray unless I would be a frequent flyer... then it can't be good.
