Refugee 7 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Do you think it’s too early for Christmas music? While we are on the subject, what is your favorite holiday song?
Echosoftom 3 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 YES! What happened to waiting till after Thanksgiving? Two weeks ago I was in Macy's and they were already playing them. Also, there's a station here that started playing Christmas songs the day after Halloween. My favorite is "O Holy Night".
Patty Petty 9 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 I'm with you, Sharon! I want to go back to the day AFTER Thanksgiving!
DCAHNM 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Way too early!! It starts earlier and earlier each year!! They started playing Christmas music way before Halloween... As far as my favorite Christmas songs go... I must hear "Christmas Balls", "Rudolph The Red-Neck Reindeer" and "Merry Christmas From The Family" or it just doesn't seem like Christmas to me. I do have a least favorite song-- "Rockin Around The Christmas Tree"--Uggh!!!
Magnolia 171 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Me, too. Please let us get through Thanksgiving first. That said, I do love hearing Christmas music all over the place. I always get excited when Christmas All Over Again comes on. Another favorite is City Sidewalks.
WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 It is too early. I am loving the colors of Fall now and my home is decorated for Thanksgiving....one of my favorite Holidays. Favorite Christmas song? I have too many....I love Karen Carpenter's "Merry Christmas, Darling"

SingsInFrench 262 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 We lose the anticipation and enjoyment of Thanksgiving, when Christmas leapfrogs right over it. What's the rush? Let us enjoy each holiday in turn. My favorite Christmas song is I'll be Home for Christmas: bittersweet, like so many of us experience the holidays. Patty Petty 9 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 I will admit though that I do like some (key word, SOME!) Christmas music playing on the house system Thanksgiving Day.
conmae 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Yes it is too early...my fav is 'Silent Night'.
Patty Petty 9 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Gosh, I didn't say what my favorite song was. That's so hard! I can't pick just one. But right off the top of my head, I'll say, the entire album "Ella Wishes You A Swinging Christmas" (Ella Fitzgerald) My parents LOVED her and played that album faithfully at Christmas time. It brings back a lot of warm, fuzzy memories.
wild1forever 152 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Yes, dammit, it is too early! :093: My favorite song is "Oh Holy Night".
LizzieB 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 It is WAY too early for Christmas music. So annoying. And I'm getting sick of Christmas sh*t in every store I go into, right up front, in your face. I can't say I have any favorite Christmas song. I do not enjoy traditional Christmas music, and don't enjoy most of the non-traditional stuff as well. kelly 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 WAY too early for Christmas music. I really don't like Christmas songs - but if I had to choose a favorite, I would say "Christmas All Over Again!" Tom Petty, of course. Christmas in Hollis is another one I like, and Elvis, too.
WildflowerNJ 136 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Another one I love is "Christmas is for the Family" sung by Dennis Day. My Mom would play that album so much during Christmas (yes, too early now!!) I have that album and will play it again this season...
Refugee 7 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 For me personally, anytime is too early for Christmas crap. I don't care for the "holidays" at all. Except for what's on TV, I haven't been bombarded with Christmas nonsense too much this year. That's a good thing. But yeah, please hold off playing holiday music till after Thanksgiving. I do have a favorite song - Little Drummer Boy, it still makes me cry when I hear it. I also love a good rendition of Silent Night. Which reminds me, where's my Los Straitjacket's cd? Beamish 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 WAY TOO EARLY, and I prefer them in moderation even after Thanksgiving- I dislike repetition and get sick of them easily. The songs I like the most are the Bob Rivers parodies.
agirl 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 Yes! I refuse to do anything about Christmas until Thanksgiving is over. I can't think of the title of my favorite song. I'm dyslexic when it comes to song titles, lol.
Yer so bad 4 Report post Posted November 18, 2010 No, my mother began to listen Christmas songs, my favorite´s 'Silent Night'.
Sugar 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2010 I am for after Thanksgiving also. I do like Alan Jackson's Christmas album though. I am over my denial that the holidays are coming. My inlaws are on their way for Thanksgiving, and I just made 700 kids Thanksgiving at the school that I work at today. There is no turning back now! nurktwin 2,143 Report post Posted November 19, 2010 i think it's too early, but had an idea in mind. i sent out some cd's a couple years ago with 1 xmas song on it. i tried last year to upload it here for everyone, but it didn't work. i'll try again this year and see what happens. it's the version of "Christmas All Over Again" by TPATH with a Wilbury twist. George starts the track by saying Merry Christmas and then the song starts. when it's over, George talks again and then there is silence for 20-30 seconds, only to come back with more talking, with a special guest. i hope i can get this to you ASAP before xmas or someone that has it can get it uploaded for a download. Starfish 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2010 Waiting until after Thanksgiving gets my vote, too. My favorite Christmas song is Silent Night, as performed by the choir at my former church.
