  1. I visited Turkey last year and I really liked it. My neice owns a diving business in Bodrum which is like the Riviera/Jet set for Turkey. Croatia is also very beautiful. Was very surprised by that. I may stay with my neice for a while next year while I'm off for a year.

    I Love.....

I love myself. I don't care if you don't. As far as I'm concerned, I'm an ok person.
  3. I hate that when you make a gesture of good-will it's ignored.
  4. I wish there was a way of erasing all the bad memories.
  5. I confess so far I'm pleasantly surprised.
  6. ^ Serious people get on my nerves!
  7. It means Help, or distress signal to me.
  8. Definitely, South of France, Greece, there are many places in Europe I'd like to live. Having been born and schooled in England, then moving to Canada where I've now lived for nearly 36 years I'm ready to return to Europe. I used to think I'd like to live in the United States, but I no longer fancy that now. My personality is more suited to Europe then North America I believe.
  9. I confess, I get so riled up and upset about the poor old, sick, unloved, ill-treated and homeless animals. I so love them all. I wish I had a ton of money to help them all. I'm afraid my sympathy and love doesn't include many human beings.
  10. Oh, poor old doggie, it breaks my heart when they become sick or old, poor things, they can't help it. I can't stand to think to just put them to sleep after years of love and loyalty just because they become inconvenient, I really do feel sad for you and Bailey. I hope you don't have to put him down. I so love the animals, honestly, so much nicer then most people out there (and I include myself). You're dad better hope he doesn't become inconvenient, or better yet - incontinent.... if he was my old man, it would have been, one accident and Dr. Kavorkian!
  11. So sad to hear Is Bailey a dog or a cat? It's a good job they don't put human beings down with diabetes or half the population would be gone. I have diabetes (but don't have any accidents). Is Bailey on any medication for it? I know they can treat diabetes in animals, just as they can with humans, I know someone with a cat who is on medication for it. Poor animals.
  12. ^ Me to! I have in fact apologised profusely for the upset, I started an apology thread in Depot Street, mind you it would seem that in spite of all the fuss that ensued no one's really interested in the apology after all that. It's had 116 hits, but only 3 people bothered to acknowledge that. So much for that.
  13. 250,000 People in Quebec are without power as well due to the storm and lots more in the Maritimes.
  14. I only have like 2 friends so a big bash is out of the question as is the shopping. My birthday is the same as my sons, so as usual, we'll be spending it together, November 18th in case you all want to start saving for gifts!
  15. Back to work today for another school year You can't say I didn't try!
  16. No. Neither one of us is touchy, feely.
  17. Before we are all allowed to post once again tomorrow in the Creative Corner forums, I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise for upsetting everyone with the remarks I made about the movie "The Help". My remarks were not meant to incite a furor. I posted with tongue firmly in cheek and it was meant to be funny. Apparently not one of you thought it was funny, and many of you, especially Sharon, figured it was a deliberate dig. It caused yet 2 more people to drop me from facebook, but I figure they were just waiting for an opportunity to do that in any case. While I am sorry to have caused so much upset amongst you, some of you have commented to me here and in private that I seem to have no sense of how difficult it is in the United States to cope with this type of humour regarding race, religion etc. Well I do want to stress that the United States is not alone in it's political correctness stance these days, we do have the same things going on here in Canada and in the United Kingdom as well! In fact here in Canada it is virtually impossible to make any sort of joke at all these days without offending someones race, religion, sexual preference, the out of work, the hearing impaired, sight impaired, homeless, greenpeace, amnesty international, lawyers, doctors, priests, nuns, or the environmentally friendly. It's become rediculous. I would also like to say, I have had this type of sense of humour my entire life, most English people have this type of humour, and those that have been around the various bbs/forums of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers for the past 12 years would already know this about me. Everyone used to laugh at the remarks I made, until, this past April. All of a sudden, I wasn't politically correct anymore and everyone got insulted over the slightest innocuous remark I made. However, I realise that none of you liked what I said, and I apologise and will try to do better in the future. Again this was NOT aimed at Sharon specifically, it was a joke. I also realise that this apology won't be enough for some people, but short of taking an ad out in the NY Times or sending the entire Farm bouquets of flowers I am at a loss as to what else I can do to make amends. By the way, feel free to make all the Jewish jokes/put downs you like. I am Jewish, although not practicing. I won't take offence.
  18. I'm sorry to say that they have the poorest quality T-shirts, sweatshirts out there. I'd never buy another single item of clothing from them again. Plus the fits are horrible. The T-shirts are so long. I don't like that very long T-shirt over jeans look.
