Nice one!

Hope the traffic won't be too bad this evening.

I visit the dentist every 4 months, last time was last month.
I have regular visits with my doctor as well, last time was in August, I'm due there again pretty soon.
Luckily both my husband and myself have fantastic health insurance provided by our companies.

Yes, I've seen the crown jewels too - pretty impressive.

Doesn't look anything like the London that I knew when I lived there in the '60's. It's grown too big. I wouldn't like it anymore, well that and everything's owned by the bloody Arabs now. Sorry for being unpolitically correct there but it's true.

Years ago when my parents had a pub in Sussex, they used to do lunches, mom got a grilled sandwich maker and concoted all types of grilled sandwiches for the bar, my all time favourite was very sharp Cheddar cheese and mushrooms on a whole-wheat. I loved those sandwiches.

^ Thanks. I'm hoping that Finlay will become my "loaner grand-son". Won't be getting any from Jeff.
-
Today I learned that Jeff's friends have a new baby boy, Finlay, born late this afternoon, 3 weeks early in Cambridge, Ontario. 6lbs, 3oz. He was due to be born on November 17th, one day before mine and Jeff's birthday and we were excited that he might arrive actually on our birthdays but I guess he was too impatient. Daddy, Cameron says Finlay can't wait to get a "Miri" cuddle on December 10th when we all get together with other friends at Jeff's place.

1. Name something you lose when you get older.
Your mind. I am getting a little worried of late as I don't have the memory I once had.
2. Name something made of wool.
Socks
3. Where is a bad place to fall asleep?
In the middle of the road - don't ask!
4. Name a public place where you're likely to catch a cold or a flu bug.
School. I'm always amazed that I don't get sick more often working in the office at school. Kids coming in and out to me all day long wanting to go home sick. Perhaps after all these years I've become immune to alot of the bugs out there.
5. Name an article of clothing you can't wash in the washing machine.
My suede jacket
6. Other than a bull, name a big animal you wouldn't want in your china shop.
I love them dearly but wouldn't like an elephant in a china shop.

I really hope we do all meet up with our old "friends" somewhere, one day.

Hope Lillie is with friends in doggy heaven. I have been thinking of her and you Lizzie all evening. I bet the house seems so odd without her. I gave my two little guys extra hugs and kisses tonight.

Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm at work, 5 mins till closing time and thought I'd check out the Farm for the first time today. I'm so sad about your dog Lizzie. Bless her old heart. It's so hard when our furry friends get old and start failing and die. Each time, I say, that's that..I can't do that again, but after a while I do. But you never forget them or stop loving them. I still grieve and think about animals that have been gone now for over 40 years. I miss and grieve for them more then I do for most adults.
Sorry Lizzie, ((((((LIZZIE)))))) it's so hard.

I love the stars. On clear nights I can always see two very bright stars, brighter then the others, I always pretend they are my mom and brother looking down on me. I know it's stupid but it's a bit comforting.

Have a nice day - as we say in Canada.
-
I have, but not in a major way, I've just bought a few stocking stuffers. I never get serious Christmas shopping until after my Birthday in November.
-
I voted parents. Mine completely messed me and my brother up, I've been in therapy on and off for years because of them. Also having worked for over 2 decades now in schools I've seen so many useless bloody parents who have absolutely no idea how to deal with their kids, no parenting skills whatsoever and many of them are out of work losers. The apples never fall far from the tree. There should be some strict guidelines to adhere to before allowing people to breed.

We don't recognize some of your holidays because they are American holidays. We have our own Canadian ones that you wouldn't get. We have July 1st off for Independence day, we don't have veterans day but we get a holiday in February called "Family Day" which I don't think you get. We DO get Labour day. We also get May 24th off for Victoria day and December 26th off for Boxing Day - which I think is like you're Black Friday. I think we get as many holidays as you do but some of them are just at different times and called different things.
-
Black Friday doesn't happen here.

I love that one of the teachers gave me a Starbucks gift card today for all the work I do for her.

Oh yeah, lots of bloody fun to be had when the kitchen reno is now going into it's 4th week and looks like a building site. NOT!

Central air conditioning, but we have ceiling fans in most of the rooms too which work well. I'm glad to have air conditioning on the extremely humid/hot days but to be honest, I prefer just leaving windows open and relying on the fans. I don't like that sealed off feeling you get with central air.

No question of the day today?

I love ice cream

I hated high school, and it hated me. I imagine that they're all in nursing homes now.HAHAHA I had a few really HORRIBLE teachers during my time in school, and nowadays my comfort is imagining they are all long dead and cold in the ground.
