Today's Disc. Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Led Zeppelin - Celebration Day (released November 19, 2012)
-
Our son-in-law is stuck in London on business (where it's just Thursday for them), so our big family Thanksgiving has been postponed until December 2. But my immediate family is all here and I've started cooking. I'm baking chicken with onions, sweet potatoes, craisins and apples covered with maple syrup, cornbread stuffing with Italian stuffing, and a caramel apple pie. Not the usual big production, but it will hopefully be good.

Twelve previously unreleased recordings available on March 5th On March 5th, a collection of 12 previously unreleased recordings by Jimi Hendrix will see the light. People, Hell and Angels follows Hendrix in 1968 and 1969 as he works on material apart from the Jimi Hendrix Experience and suggests new, experimental directions. The legendary guitarist was considering these new sounds for First Rays of the New Rising Sun, the planned double-album follow-up to Electric Ladyland. Hendrix toys with horns, keyboards, percussion and a second guitar, exploring fresh diversions from his legendary guitarwork. The album artwork is simple, yet as distinct as Hendrix's signature guitar wails. Be experienced yet again.

Got this funny email from the folks at Maker's Mark (the bourbon with bottles sealed with red wax): We're starting a new tradition: Red Friday – 100% more fun than being elbowed in the face by a stranger at the mall. You could wake up at the crack of dawn for Black Friday, or you could just crack the wax and enjoy Red Friday. Because red is the new black.

I love two bands that it's often "uncool" to admit liking: The Monkees and The Beach Boys. Not embarrassed to admit it, though.
