  1. Tom Petty

    I think the whole world was watching that night. It certainly felt that way. You just knew it, sitting in your living room, that everything around you was changing. It was like going from black-and-white to color. Really. I remember earlier that day, in fact, a kid on a bike passed me and said, ‘Hey, the Beatles are on TV tonight.’ I didn’t know him, he didn’t know me, and I thought to myself, ‘This means something.’ [The Beatles] came out and just flattened me. To hear them on the radio was amazing enough, but to finally see them play, it was electrifying.” (Guitar World)

  2. Hi Everyone:

    It's a very exciting day for Athanor.....it's finally listed on Amazon.com for pre-order:

    [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Flashback-Athanor/dp/B00B94W450/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360428935&sr=8-1&keywords=athanor+flashback]Amazon.com: Flashback: Athanor: Music@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61HSQIoG5-L.@@AMEPARAM@@61HSQIoG5-L[/ame]

    Greg and I have also created a Facebook page for the band. I'd consider it a personal favor if any of you would "LIKE" it....beware, though....there's another band out there called Athanor....we're not the Nordic musicians!!!

  3. We recently visited the Chicago History Museum, and it was revelatory. Way back when I was a kid in the 50s, when it was the Chicago Historical Society, we used to go there on field trips. It was dark and smelly and the history was so "old." But now that I'm in my sixties, the museum was suddenly all about the history I had lived through. There were pictures of people I knew, both from the news and personally. What a great experience.

  4. I've been to Oahu, Hawaii and Kauai. Without question, Kauai is my favorite. It is so beautiful there, small and intimate, and less commercial than the other islands. The food was amazing...and you can get sushi grade fish at the local supermarkets. There's even a rum distillery, made from local sugar cane.
