  1. I watched the Eagles special on Showtime last night and woke up with "Take It To The Limit" still bouncing around my brain.
  2. Hope I'm not bugging you all too much with my news...it's just so exciting. I've waited 40 years for this!!! Here's what I woke up to find on the label's FB page this morning!! Thanks to all of the Farmers who have pre-ordered the record and "liked" our FB page. You'll never know how much I appreciate it. If you haven't already, please go to facebook.com/athanormusic and "like" and "share" ATHANOR vinyl is here, earlier than expected!!!!
  3. Rick

    Newbie here

Delighted to have you join us!!!!
  4. Summerfest!!!!! I'm there!!!!!!!
  5. A few days behind.....loved the Lonnie Donnegan!!!! A few years ago, we were in England and saw his son Peter performing at a small pub, backed by his dad's band. At a break, Peter came by the bar where I was sitting and sat next to me. He was absolutely shocked that an American knew who his father was. I explained that no self respecting Beatles fan would not have heard of his dad.
  6. I can still remember hearing their version for the first time at one of their concerts in Wisconsin!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
  7. My favorite Beatle. Happy Birthday, George.
  8. Wish my mom would make me a cake like that!! Happy Birthday, Smokey!!!
  9. Today's disc has a wonderful version of TP's "The Wrong Thing To Do," from the Mudcrutch album. Disc of the Day: Stephen Stills - Live at Shepherd's Bush
  10. ^I think the queen's English, too. I've never been in a gang in the sense that the word is used now. In high school, I was in a group of three inseparable friends. The Three Musketeers? The Three Stooges? Who knows???
  11. I do my own and our son's every year.
  12. ^^And happy anniversary to you and Fred, Beth!!!!!
  13. I start every Saturday morning listening to Stereo Hysteria, a truly wonderful one-hour podcast that's a "must" for music lovers. Charlie has amazingly diverse taste in music, and it's one of the few places, outside of Buried Treasure, that I ever hear anything that I haven't heard before that I think is actually good!!!! Check it out at: http://stereohysteria.podomatic.com/
  14. No....furthest I've gone from Illinois to see them is Wisconsin.
  15. Linda's birthday today. Made it to 59....we're as lucky as can be.
  16. Hope your birthday weekend is incredible!!!!
  17. Not too long ago, with the weather being as nice as it has been this winter. I smoked a brisket, made a few pies, had a lot of bourbon and beer....
  18. I'm afraid of falling down an endless pit. Really. I was once caving with a friend and I was so scared of falling forever that I froze and had to be dragged out of the cave.
  19. You get really spoiled going to small venues, where the artists are pretty much close enough to touch. Beats watching a show on Diamond Vision from the nosebleed seats.
  20. I would be so against it. Having traveled to work by train an hour each way for nearly 15 years, I can't tell you how annoying it was. Sometimes I could even hear people through my noise cancelling earphones!!!! The railroad finally designated some cars as "quiet cars"....but you can't do that with a plane.
  21. Check out this excellent interview with Jeff Lynne, published just a few days ago: http://www.examiner.com/article/a-conversation-with-producer-and-elo-frontman-jeff-lynne
  22. Very, very cool news!! Thanks!!
  23. The label has posted videos (not live action...just photos) of two of our songs. You can hear/see them both on youtube: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krNZJ-mqJ_I]ATHANOR - Urizen - Taken from "Flashback" LP/CD on Guerssen - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Jw9iEIMoCc]Athanor - Graveyard, 1973 - track "Graveyard" - YouTube[/ame]
