I got annoyed having to refill the tiny dishwashing soap reservoir so often when washing dishes, so I disconnected the assembly and connected long tubing that I inserted into a giant bottle of soap that I got at Costco. Now I change the bottle every two years or so.

Not sure I'll be around in 15, so I'll take the $1 million now and enjoy life.

I always like watching the lead guitarist the most, so I voted for Mike.

TV hadn't been invented yet when I was a kid.
No, just kidding...I don't think I had a favorite. I just loved watching TV and there were so many shows I watched in the '50s: Howdy Doody, Superman, Flash Gordon, Lassie, Annie Oakley, Roy Rogers, The Cisco Kid, The Lone Ranger, Sky King, Science Fiction Theater, Watch Mr. Wizard. And all the cartoons. If I had to pick a favorite, though, it would be the weekly horror movie show, "Shock Theater." Every Saturday night, Marvin the Near-Sighted Madman would present a different horror film, mostly from the Universal library. I still remember the very first show. I was 7 and my brother was 9. We were forbidden to watch the first movie, "Frankenstein." So, of course, we sneaked out of bed and got scared out of our wits!!! And we tuned in every week thereafter.

I should add that my daughter is also a great cook. Check out her food blog at thejeyofcooking.com

Firefly was a kind of a western in space show. They flew ships but their weapons were revolvers and shotguns. It had Nathan Fillion from Castle and Adam Baldwin from Chuck in it. My son turned us onto this show after it had already been cancelled. It's a shame because it was a cool show. They mention the cancelled show from time to time on the Big Bang Theory so I guess it was a big hit with the nerds. Summer Glau even made an appearance on The Big Bang Theory. I think most of the actors went on to be successful on other shows. Summer played The Terminator in the TV series. We still pull out the DVDs from time to time and watch the series again. I like it!Thanks to everyone who mentioned Firefly. I had bought the blu-ray of the entire series at the beginning of the year, but we never watched it...until now. It's still as great as I remember. Now, on to "Serenity."

As a guitarist, I've always liked George.

Me.
And speaking of cooking, if you have an iPhone or iPad, the Starbucks pick of the week is Mark Bittman's book, "How To Cook Everything." It's a $10 app, but you can download it for free if you can find the pick of the week card at Starbucks this week and download the code.

Did you remember to set your clocks back before bed last night?
Well, I knew I had to do it, but I was too tired, so I waited until this morning.
Did you sleep ok with the time change?
Yes, but the dog didn't know about the change (maybe because I didn't change the clocks), so she woke me up at her usual time.
What is the weather like for you this Sunday?
52, partly cloudy. It will go up to 61 by midday.
Will you be cooking a special breakfast or dinner this Sunday?
No.
Name one thing you plan on doing today.
We're going to dinner at the home of friends we have seen in about three years.
Fill in the blank: Today, I feel ________.
Positive

Ooops....it didn't work. Can someone tell me how to embed a video? It showed up on my message as I wrote it, but not after I posted it.

Not really. I don't care much for dessert unless it's a fruit pie.

I agree. Thanks, Ryan.

That's easy....Dr. Pappas gave my wife a new heart and a new life.

We call it pop, but how about we call it soda pop from now on??
-
Just picked up two new reissues that I've enjoyed thoroughly.
The Smile Sessions - The Beach Boys. Actually, this was never released, but it was assembled from 1966/1967 recording sessions.

Achtung Baby - U2. Hard to believe this came out 20 years ago.

Never thought about it. I think I'd go with "yes."

Mostly TV.
-
Sure. I've done it zillions of times.

I don't eat steak often, but love skirt steak, especially in tacos.

Happy birthday!!

Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday.
Last meal??? All the things I love about Chicago food...hot dogs, Italian beef, and deep dish sausage pizza, all washed down with Goose Island beer.

I love limeade, but am too lazy to make it myself so I never have it. So I voted for lemonade, since I buy it often.
