  1. I only eat licorice in Good and Plenty.
  2. I voted for hardwood floors, but don't have any. My house is carpeted. I don't love it, but it helps keep my feet warm during the cold Chicago winters.
  3. Our old TV broke last year the day before Christmas and the repairman told us that it would cost less to buy a new flat screen TV than to fix it. So we now have a 42" flat screen that gets HD. What a world of difference.
  4. Meeting a friend today for a proper Irish breakfast...Irish bacon, Irish sausage, black & white pudding, baked beans, sauteed mushrooms, fried potatoes, two eggs, Irish toast and sweet butter.
  5. I'm appalled by the recent law enacted in Chicago to put in speeding cameras that pretty much cover the entire city.
  6. Last vacation was December, 2009, to Kauai. Best time ever. Hope to go back in 2012.
  7. In general, Chinese food. Not sure I could ever make it as good or as authentically as they do in restaurants.
  8. Don't have to buy it this year.
  9. Either my house, my daughter's, or her in-laws.
  10. I used to do it all, but now that we have a grandchild, it moves around. This year, we're at my daughter's in-laws. I've been asked to make mashed rutabagas and the cranberry sauce.
  11. Idris Elba is the actor who played Stringer Bell on "The Wire," but not many know his name. He's huge in the UK, where he has done two miniseries as DCI John Luther. How strange it was to hear him speak with a British accent!!
  12. Just have a little bit left....less than a dozen mini Snickers bars. Should be gone soon.
  13. I stopped having the newspaper delivered, as I became increasingly upset with the editorial changes in the Chicago Tribune. Now I read the New York Times on my iPad every day.
  14. Just got back from an amazing concert. The Fab Faux (featuring Will Lee from Letterman's band and Jimmy Vivino from Conan's band) performed the entire Beatles albums "Revolver" and "Sgt. Pepper." They don't act or talk like the Beatles...they just try to play the songs letter perfect. They did an amazing job. I never get the YouTube stuff to work, but here's a video of them doing "I Am The Walrus" on Letterman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lknCpGbsJc
  15. The happiest of birthdays to you on your special day!!
  16. Sometimes pressure is the very things that spurs me on to do well.
  17. It ain't Thanksgiving without turkey!!
  18. Happy Birthday to you!!!
  19. I echo all of the previous sentiments. Sadly, though, like most other non-religious holidays, it feels like just another day. Lots of mattress sales, though.
  20. Sunday mornings are my favorite, as it is usually the beginning of a day when I have nothing pressing to do. No doctor appointments, no shopping, and it's a great day to see family, as they have nothing pressing to do, either.
  21. I'll go with chauffeur, especially because of 100-mile round trips we make to the hospital.
  22. No way of knowing, but I'm betting they take the summer off.
