  1. Until the weather got too cold, I used to push Linda in the wheelchair for four miles every day. Now I'll have to find something new.
  2. No idea. I've never been good at stats. I'd say "Go Sooners," but they disgraced themselves by losing to Oklahoma State twice this past season. Ended up in the Infinity Bowl. What the heck is that?????
  3. I love playing the slots....particularly Double Diamond with the second chance feature.
  4. All of the James Bond films.
  5. I sure wish I could subtract. 1988?? 1. Traveling Wilburys 2. Nirvana (1st single was in 1988) 3. The E Street Band 4. The Zombies 5. Cheap Trick The Wrecking Crew is a great choice!! A year ago, I would have agreed with The Monkees. They've always been my guiltiest pleasure on record. But this summer I saw them live and without question, IMHO, it was the worst live concert I've ever seen. They were backed by eight very talented musicians who covered for a shocking lack of talent.
  6. The way I had it last night...smoked pulled chicken.
  7. I listened to The Beach Boys' "Smile" album that was recorded in the 60s but was officially released a month or so ago. Best reissue of the year of an album that was never released!!
  8. Happy New Year, everyone. May 2012 be happy and healthy for all of us.
  9. We do black-eyed peas as well. I add onions, bacon, a bit of pure can syrup and a little Tabasco.
  10. I know it's the Pope thing, but the Cheech and Chong answer is probably pretty accurate as well.
  11. I make black-eyed peas every New Year's Day. Don't know whether it brings good luck, but it tastes great!!!!
  12. I have no idea, so I'll try to take an semi-educated guess: George Harrison loved using diminished chords, and TP always talks about how great a guitarist George was, so maybe that rubbed off on him.
  13. No. We're going to have a quiet evening watching movies, eating Chicago-style deep dish pizza, and will toast the New Year with sparkling cherry juice.
  14. 4,000, considerably less than in Chicago.
  15. Sorry for your loss, Nurk.
  16. Taking the question literally, I do not like shoveling snow. If we get an inch or two, I don't do anything....just drive over it. But when the big snows fall, I love bringing out the snow thrower and pushing my way through those huge snow mounds. It's almost cathartic. Amber....I was in Atlanta on business in that snowstorm. I was amazed that an entire major city could shut down with such little snow. But I do understand that they don't prepare for it like we do in the Chicago area. I'm not a big fan of hotel food, so it took me forever to find a restaurant that was open. Finally ended up at Pittypat's Porch.
  17. Way back in 1991 I lost my job. I don't remember the details, but I ended up winning a Nintendo system that came with Super Mario Brothers. With nothing but time on my hands, I played and played and played until I beat it. Funny, with Linda in the hospital as much as she was the past year, I got totally addicted to Angry Birds. Lots of time on my hands.
  18. I have to give it to Sgt. Pepper. I still remember walking to the record store after school the day it came out. It was the first stereo record I ever bought. My brother was away at college but had left his stereo at home. I wasn't allowed to touch it, but it was The Beatles. I listened to it over and over and over and over and over. I taped in on my little reel-to-reel recorder and played it in my car (didn't have a cassette player in my car in 1967). What an amazing moment in time, unlike any other album I ever bought.
  19. Rick

    Thank You All

May 2012 be your best year ever.
