  2. Prayers for Tom Petty - 1950-2017

I feel absolutely numb with grief today. It's been a crap year, and the events of the past few weeks/days have left me feeling lower than usual. But as I listen to his music this morning, it helps me to remember how much life Tom put into his music. And that will live on forever.
  3. Happy Birthday, Nurk!

Hey Nurk!! Happiest of birthdays to you!!!!
  4. Breakfast with the Beatles

I remember that day well also, Nurk! I was a senior in high school and just finished finals. I literally ran to the local record store. They had a list of who had bought the album that day. I was #7. Two of my classmates who had already bought it were Jack Burchall of the Del-Vetts, and Terry Chess, son of Chess Records' Phil Chess. It was literally the first stereo album I'd ever bought....my older brother had a stereo which I was forbidden to touch, but he was still at college, so..... I had a portable reel-to-reel tape recorder and taped the album and played it in my car non-stop. I remember going to Terry's house and listening to it on a REAL stereo system. Seems like you could could hear the album coming out the windows of every house that summer. Even as I listen now in to the Deluxe Edition in my car with the windows open, I wonder who is doing the same thing. Oh....one more thing....try listening to the new stereo mix at home with headphones on....something I never do anymore. It will blow your mind.
  5. When we got our last car, it came with 3 free months of Sirius XM. We never subscribed. But in honor of the Beatles Station, they've turned on everyone's radios and I'm getting all Sirius XM channels for free through May 30th!!
  6. Happy Birthday Mudcrutch

    Happiest of birthdays to you!!!!!
  7. Question of the day 2/22/17

I have three acoustics. My favorite is the Takemine EF381C 12-String: But if I could have any acoustic, I'd want this Rickenbacker that Ricky Nelson had:

  9. Question of the day 2/15/17

Taking any band that was around in the sixties out of the equation, I'd choose Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band.
  10. Happy New Year Farmers

A Happy and Healthy New Year to you all!!!
  11. Question of the day 1/3/17

    "Old and in the Way"
  12. Question of the day 12/20/16

No, but I'm really hoping that someone will give me the Beatles Yellow Submarine Lego set!!! And maybe a bottle of whiskey.
  13. Stereo Hysteria

Let me know what you thought, Nurk!!
  14. Next to Buried Treasure and Little Steven's Underground Garage, my favorite music show is a podcast called "Stereo Hysteria." I've written about this show before. He has included TP's music on many a show. Every once in a while they do a show that stands out as spectacular. So...if you want to spend 2 hours listening to some amazing music, take a listen to this episode devoted exclusively to the music of 1966. Enjoy!!! https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/stereohysteria/episodes/2016-12-15T07_00_00-08_00
