  1. Sorry to hear about your toe, Andrea. Before I even got to the end of your post, I thought there wasn't much that can be done for a broken toe. Hang in there, I know you are even more swamped at work than is normal for Xmas. I know my mail is taking forever. I sent something to Brad for 5 days in a row day last week, and he got the last thing first, and the all the rest the next day!
  2. I got a new code. This time the email just said, "Thanks for choosing Live Nation Merchandise". So... Any advice before I use this one up? Maybe I should try loging in on the PC. I have Firefox and Exploder loaded on that one.
  3. They shook their magic error ball and said "This sounds like a firewall issue. " My firewall is set to "Allow all incoming connections", so harrumph. I got a 3rd code, tried it in Firefox this time with scripts set to 'allow all this page' - still no joy.
  4. Ref, I use Safari. Did they tell you to use another browser after the first download didn't work, or was that your own initiative? Since the code gets me through to the download page, it already thinks the code has been used so I can't try again, I'll have to wait and see if they send another code.
  5. ^ Lol, Linda! They sent me another code, and it got me to the download page as before, but when I clicked on the flac link, it gave me the Access Forbidden error again. I am pretty sure their system scans incoming emails for certain key words, and sends an automated response accordingly, even if it sounds stupid or inappropriate to the recipient. I am all for automation in it's place, but if we send jobs overseas and automate the rest to save money, and make the top 1% even richer, is it any wonder our economy is in the shape it is?
  6. Rain and cold forecast for my area Saturday, but like Barb said, it's been downright warm the last few days in SoCal. That is a fantastic picture.
  7. Prayer is putting in a request, meditation is waiting for an answer, so they go hand in hand for me. That being said, I don't do either very well.
  8. Auto responses to emails that sound like customer service could care less (livenation, I am looking at you). Bradley still hasn't bought his return ticketback from NH to CA, but he insists he'll be back by Saturday (even though he initially promised to be home today or tomorrow). Then, I leave myself on Tuesday for a week. I am trying to let him have his dignity as an adult and take care of himself, and not control, manage or fix him, but it's hard when it interferes with what I want.
  9. This would be funny, if it weren't so sad. First, is my email to them. Then their response. I assume it is an auto reply and they aren't that stupid. I just find this sort of 'customer service' a major fail. And companies wonder why their customers are already angry by the time a situation reaches the point where a person has to deal with them. (Emboldening mine)
  10. I tried my code again, and got this: that's just great.
  11. I got my code, went to the download page, copy/pasted my code in, and got this lovely message:  Guess I'll try again later. Maybe they want the code typed in manually.
  12. "On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me; A bulldog named Belleeeee!"
  13. You have a good point. Maybe I'll just get another copy in a less expensive format. Ha ha, I may get old, but thanks to clairol, I'll never be grey! but I'll still thank you.
  14. The only difference afaik, is the the red vunyl is, well, red, and limited to 500 copies. Iirc, the black vinyl was a 5000 copy run? Still haven't opened mine. But I will probably cave into temptation eventually.
  15. ^ That's why I am going home, even though it's a royal pain in the arse getting there. My dad is in his late 70s and has Parkinson's dementia. I want to be with my family as much as possible in the next coming years. My mother is in robust health, but you never know.
  16. I was raking leaves this morning and raked up a big chunk of shingle that had come off my roof. Seems like any windfall gets spent before I can even think about how I'd like to spend it. Even imaginary money.
  17. A local friend of mine had a successful opening and show down in Santa Monica this weekend. I am so proud of her! She is able to make a living doing her art, which is wonderful.
  18. Other. I'd use it so I can further my art career. I wouldn't have to do other work to pay bills. Or fret because there isn't enough work to pay the bills. I am doing both right now.
  19. There are 2 free downloads from iTunes this week: "Silent Night" by The Temptations and "Christmas Time is Here" (Charlie Brwon Christmas) by the Vince Guaraldi Trio I wasn't too keen on last week's offerings I like the traditional stuff.
  20. So far I haven't had a hard time with reclining seats, although I am tall. I do request an aisle seat though. One, to stretch my legs so my knees and hips don't ache so bad, and I need to use the lavatory more often than most people, and I hate to crawl over them all the time to just get to the aisle. It is a shame that they feel compelled to jam more and more people into coach. I hate flying, but I have no choice this year.
  21. 1. Do you have any special plans for Christmas? I will be with my family 2. Will you be traveling? Yep. Flying from CA to NE. Impossible to get a nonstop. In fact I have 2 lay overs on the way back. I am leaving the 21st and coming back on the 28th (both Tuesdays) to avoid crowds as much as possible. 3. What is the worst thing about this time of year? Everyone is so stressed out and crabby, mainly because they are trying to 'outdo' themselves. 4. Do you have any favorite holiday traditions? Being with my close family on Xmas day for dinner. I love the German foods I grew up with, wish I could take coffeebread and springerle cookies with me on the plane 5. Do you have your Christmas tree up yet? If not, will you have a tree up this year? I put the tree up yesterday, after hemming and hawing, and thinking of reasons not to. It's funny how ornaments are so sentimental - it will be a little hard and some I won't hang, but I asked Bradley to bring me one when he gets back from New Hampshire. He was actually excited at the prospect. It will be a part of a new beginning.
  22. Thanks for the photos Beth, I wanna Gator puppet! I would love to come East some year during Xmas-time.
  23. None, but that doesn't mean I'm in bed.
