I picked "make extra money", because I try to paint nearly every day, and I can often get a little extra bookkeeping done. Hopefully the former will translate into "make extra money" one of these days.

Not much, unless I am not feeling well, particularly now, when my head and lungs are congested.

It's lights out for the incandescent bulb in Calif

I've become very disenchanted with cfl bulbs, the main replacement for incandescents. I've been in houses where they have changed out all their bulbs, and it's like waiting for the sun to rise when you turn them on. After not too many months, they are noticeably dimmer than a new one. My mom bought one purported to be dimmable for a ceiling fixture, and not only did it buzz noisily, after about 5 minutes, we could smell this awful hot wiring smell coming from it. We tried it in another, non dimmable fixture and it stank there too. We tried a different brand, and it didn't buzz as badly, but began to smoke and stink, when we tried it in a non dimmable receptacle, the ballast at the base was too fat to fit in. Are we supposed to rewire and refit our homes now so these 'environmentally friendly' bulbs work? Also the general concensus is that too many of them burn out really fast, they sure as hell don't last 10 years or whatever length of time we were initially told they would. I'll leave the breakage/mercury issue to someone else... -
I'll donate Shianne! Cathy, give your brother a big hug from me! :056: So many Farmers seem to have been affected by cancer lately - a big (((HUG))) to you all!

There are so many stellar musicians living out here; Tim Easton, Victoria Williams, Mark Olsen, JP Houston, and on and on, it's hard to nail down a band, and they all often play together, usually at Pappy and Harriet's on Sundays. Ted Quinn's open mics get very talented individuals as well. What's funny is there is a local group of musicians who play mostly out of town, but I caught them last weekend in Joshua Tree, and they are a riot! They're called the California Celts

1. For the most part, do you feel physically younger or older than you actually are? Much younger. 2. How about emotionally? Younger or older than your current age? Younger, I am working on not being so emotionally immature. 3. Do you think you were/are better at being a kid, teenager or an adult? A kid, I was far more creative and imaginative. 4. These days, do you find yourself trying to make an extra effort for more time to play or rest these days? Play. 5. Take this quiz: Are You a Puppy or a Kitten? You Are a Kitten You are playful and sweet, but you also treasure your alone time. You're pretty independent, and you resent anyone trying to tell you what to do. You don't get bored easily. You are quite good at entertaining yourself. Deep down, you are quite sensitive and intuitive. You are less standoffish than you seem. 6. Which have you had more of in your life: cats or dogs? Cats. Growing up on a farm tipped the scales.

All of the above, but research probably edges ahead of the rest.

Nobody. Rick is right.

I hope your worry is unfounded Beth, and Barb, that your leg pain is just a passing thing. :056: I have officially declared myself sick with a chest cold, but today is 'errand day' and there are a few things I must do, when I should just stay home and rest.

I haven't been to the mountains in so long, it would be nice. I have been wanting to go to the eastern sierras for awhile now.

TIL that that cough that started Monday night was the beginning of a chest cold.

Facebook Apps Allowing Access to Numbers, Addresses

That's why I never accept hugs or any of that other nonsense. Anytime I get the window that says facebook needs to access my stuff before continuing on, I cancel. -
Hope Andrea gets her new car today! Bookkeeping. blech. I hate this time of year. :icon_mad: I'd rather get started on some new paintings.

Hi Bonnie! I'm still trying to figure out if I can make this one too, but if I do, I hope to see you there! -
:003: Thanks Nurk, most of those looked kind of fun, actually!

A Taylor and a Gurian guitar, and some kind of mandolin. Still sitting behind the couch, hopefully they will stay there awhile.

^ I live 15 miles out of town. I could ride my bike or walk 2.5 miles to the bus stop (which picks people up at 7:30 AM and drops them back off sometime in the afternoon), but the 5 miles is a narrow paved road with no shoulders. That's pretty much impossible in my book. I do try to keep trips to a minimum though. Town twice a week, the post office (2.5 miles), a little more. Still I feel like I am constantly putting $20 in my tank - it just doesn't get me very far anymore.

Thank you!
It is woefully out of date - I just can't seem to motivate myself to update it - I'd rather use the time for painting!
