Andrea, I am sure somebody can identify it for you. It has a beautiful wood finish.

^ I need to order a Mac Mini today.
My old work PC has gotten a little too curmugeonly for my comfort, so I was afraid I was going to have to buy another PC for economy's sake. A friend was teasing me when I told him I was going to buy a PC, and when I told him why, he offered to make up the difference so I could buy a Mac ($300 vs $700) instead!
I am going to use the laptop in my studio/office, because I already have the cursed XP, Quicken and other Windows junk I need on it, plus I use it for my painting. The Mini will be my 'house' computer, replacing the old G5 iMac which developed serious motherboard problems last summer, and has been sitting dark in a corner ever since.
So it's kind of win-win. I get to keep using XP (and Outlook Express - or I may start using Thunderbird, it's pretty nice and it's cross platform) a little longer, and I am on my way back to having a Windows-less world.

My boyfriend only named the first guitar he made, a 12 string he calls Lorilei - which I think is a beautiful name. He calls his Taylor "Dan" because it's a Dan Crary model, otherwise he says he's never named any of the others.

My condolences Benny.

^ Oh boy, another new 'feature'. :095:
TIL that I really don't like smoked cheese. It always sounds yummy, but when I bite into it, meh. The smokiness is always overpowering.

1. Count your paintings, photographs and other artwork, how many pieces do you have hanging on your walls in your "home"?
16 - mostly paintings, but a few carvings, a small Navajo rug, and a couple framed prints.
Out on my studio there's 25+, a couple of those are prints as well
2. Which room in your house has the most art?
My studio.

3. Which piece of art is the coolest? Describe it?
Mike's Red Jag.(22" X 28") A picture is worth a thousand words:

4. Which piece of art has the greatest sentimental value to you?
A small study my painting teacher gave me, it's exquisite.
5. Take this quiz:What Artist Should Paint Your Portrait?
Who Should Paint You: Andy Warhol

You've got an interested edge that would be reflected in any portrait
You don't need any fancy paint techniques to stand out from the crowd!
My least favorite artist!
6. If a well known artist asked you to pose (clothed or not) for a local group of artists, would you do it?
I did pose semi nude ages ago when I was thin and supple. I don't think I would again, mainly because it's hard to hold one position for so long. But if the money was good...

No, but sometimes I am a crab and don't realize it at the time. Even if someone points it out, I'm like, No I'm Not!

...after we talked a bit, he said he could give me a better pc with faster quad processor and more ram and more everything for that lower price and also knock off $100 on the pc i was going to get the WD. so, it worked out good, i now have 2 pc's sitting on the floor. i'll take my time getting them set up, i still have 2 pc's working!!!Glad you got your PCs, your persistence paid off. He could have made that offer in the first place though, after he saw your paperwork from the other store, instead of leading you off on a song and dance. Guess he finally figured out you'd walk out the door, if he couldn't match your price on the original machines.
Me? I just need to get something done today.

Seems like I have just been futzing around so far.

True Friendship is like peeing your pants.
Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

Burn them. My friend Fred makes prosperity candles for me. I ran out in January, and because we were both sick, didn't get a new batch until last week.
What's weird is that when I was out of candles, a friend who was supposed to introduce me to a musician who represents one of the guitars I had painted, had also been sick, so we missed the guitarist' show at McCabe's in late January (and the introduction).
Since I have lit the new ones last week, this has happened: He said he was back on his feet and had emailed the picture to the guy and his manager. The musician guy emailed back that he is on a cruise in the Carribbean, but will download the picture as soon as he gets back. He has also did the score for a major movie coming out on the 24th.
Must keep those candles burning! Must keep painting!

Thai, because when the monks have an open house, almost everyone is Thai, so they bring native dishes - the variety is incredible! Like one fellow said last week, in a restaurant you would only get one or two entrees, here you get over a dozen!
Indian is a close second because Joshua Tree has a restaurant with great food, even though the service pretty terrible. Last time we were there, we waited 30 minutes for a table, and the grl who was bussing tables, was told to clear one off. There was only one empty one to clear, but she went to a table of 6 who were just finishing up, and told them they had to leave so she could clear theirs! Then the waitress seated 5 at a table for 4 and brought an extra chair, and 2 at the table for 6.
Then we waited another 40 minutes for our food after we ordered. Yes, it is that good, although I think from now on we'll just call our order in and take it home.
I love almost every Asian food I've tried though.

Everyday I am thankful for today.

Aww, we all feel that way from time to time Victoria. The feeling goes away, but it's hard in the moment.
I like your picture of London Bridge in you sig, btw. Very pretty.
Today my gripe is the wind! We get that, but never the rainstorms that generate it.
-
The Wind! It's blowing so hard I can hear sand hitting the windows, and I had to go up on the garage roof and put a cinder block on a flapping shingle to hold it down until I can glue it. Glad I haven't given back the bucket of Henry's I borrowed.

Have fun Barb!

Ha! Ha! Yeah, it kind of took me back to the early 80s, just not in a good way, lol! Was that last shot of the car going over a cliff from Harold and Maude? It looks red. though. I remember Harold's Jag-earse being black...
...and the skates were wrong.
I think Dave Grohl's been watching Elephant Parts.
Oh geez, the whole thing is streaming online.

I want that 3:35 min of my life back.
Sorry Normandi.

Thanx Marion!

I don't eat anything after my dinner....I try not to - worst time of day to eat, too. I usually keep it healthy; fruit, a little cheese, crackers.

Reservations or just get there early? The menu does look yummy!
