Could that 15% college rate simply reflects that there are a lot of itinerant farm workers who move a lot, and whose kids don't stay in any one school very long?
Actually, in my limited experience with the area, it reminds me a lot of the midwest. Lots of rolling farm country, with the benefit of being about an hour's drive from the SF Bay area or the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Maybe not a garden spot, but a lot of opportunities to see some beautiful parts of NoCal.

Funny you should mention Taylor (there are so many brands out there that could be on the list) - we're going down to San Diego tonight to see them premiere new models. Bf wants a baritone and/or their new crossover acoustic/electric, so I'd buy one of those for him, since I don't play myself.

Thanks for starting a thread. I think it's been on everyone's mind. It isn't like Ref to not let someone know.

Glad you had fun - The Canyons are beautiful, I need to go there soon, before it gets too hot!

Congratulations Shianne! Have fun on your hike today!

I miss Europe -I didn't mind not having a car then.

I'm on the "can't even afford to drive to the grocery store" diet.
Seriously, $20 gets me less than half a tank. wtf? indeed. And fuel prices affect the cost of everything else as well, especially food prices.

I love that jacket! It's displayed at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, and looks even better 'in person'.

"I didn't even know you were Jewish."
That would never fly today. Classic, thanks Benny.

Pearl Jam. I think the better question though should be, what's your favorite alternative country band from the late 80s-early 90s
Long Ryders.
or maybe Tex and the Horseheads.
Nope, Long Ryders

Dunno if that's late 80s enuff tho.

I miss candy cigarettes. Obviously the tobacco version was a gateway drug...

I remember getting a compilation cassette from a friend in seattle around '88. There was a note attached saying he'd seen a band and the lead, whose looks reminded him of Sallman's Christ. One of the tracks was "Love Buzz".
Always gotta give Nirvana the nod. And I <3 Dave Grohl too. Woulda thunk Nirvana was just the warm up act?

^ Actually it looks like someone spilled their coffee - I see a cup and a dark puddle at her feet.

That's hilarious, Emily (about the girl unfriending you on FB). I had the same thing happen to me awhile back. A girl I went to school with "friended" me. I thought it odd because we weren't friends in HS. But I accepted anyway. Next thing I know, like a couple months later, she unfriended me. No idea why, just one day, BAM! She booted me! LOL!TIL that a bunch of morons work at the grocery store. I was standing right in front of a shelf today looking for something I needed and here comes this idiot kid with labels, squeezed right in front of me and the shelf so he could stick stickers on said shelf. No "excuse me," or anything. I was pretty disgruntled, but I didn't say anything. I waited... and waited... finally I said, "Really dude?!?! REALLY!?!?!!!???" He completely ignored me, finally I just reached in front of him, grabbing what I needed, walked away and said loudly, "F*cking jacka$$. No wonder why I hate people so much!" LOL!
^ :003: Manners and courtesy are taught - well they were taught. I thought I'd seen it all, when the young woman busing tables at a restaurant awhile back, shooed away a group of diners so she could clear the table. They had only just paid their bill and were still finishing their bottle of wine.
TIL that morons are everywhere!

^ Maybe if you post a warning - as adults we may not be terribly shocked or offended, but if someone plays it at work, in a public space or in front of their kids, and suddenly foul language is spewing from their computer, it could be an unpleasant surprise.
(I went back a page before posting this, and see you did just that - :023:)

They look like Uggs to me. Maybe they are the same pair - how often does one need insulated boots in LA anyway?
I didn't notice that he was wearing laceless sneakers in one of the last pics - now those have always looked dumb to me.
I think Tom is Anti-Shoe! Remember the picture posted of him last year on the street? Those shoes were blown out! If it's ugly or unfashionable - it's on his feet!:icon_laugh:
-
My bf just saw the top picture and and asked, "is that you?" Ha! The flatterer! I also might add that he didn't immediately recognize who Tom was in the picture - so he was just referring to Dana, not that he thought I was ever sitting next to Tom at some time or another. :faint:
Anyway, I am really enjoying these Lakers pics, thanks for posting them.
-
Well, I only passed along the information, but I will tell him.
-
Thanks for the model, I'd never know.
After seeing the whole body, bf is convinced it's maccassar.
-
So what kind of guitar is it? A Tele? I didn't quite figure it out.
My bf thinks the wood may be Maccassar ebony.
-
Raw no - it's like swallowing your own tongue.
Properly cooked, in certain dishes, they're all right.

I've killed Cactus, 'nuff said! LMAO!I've killed Cactus, and I live in the desert!
I do have a spider plant that refuses to die though.

We? I'll eat meat any day I care to. Had Chinese Orange Chicken yesterday, I don't think they paid much attention to Ash Wednesday either.
