Great pictures everyone! Looks like Mike had the shiny pants on!
-
Very nice. Thanks for sharing your songs with us.

...Lotta has some wonderful photos. I can't wait to see them.
This thread has become useless without pictures.
Glad everyone had a great time at the show - I want to hear/see more!

I really enjoyed Ray - Jamie Fox was totally convincing as Ray Charles. WtL, on the other hand was much better than I expected, but Jaquin Phoenix was only playing the character of Johnny Cash. I don't know what the difference is.

Have a bit of wine, wallow in self pity until I can't stand the smell, and then remind myself that today was far worse for far too many other people.

Thanks for checking in, Lizzie - I was hoping someone would before you all slept if off. Looking forward to pics, setlists, more reviews, etc. Good times, can't wait for the 15th!

Seen recently on a guitar forum:
"God, when I die, please don't let my wife sell my guitars for what I told her I paid for them."

^

I drive over a section of it every time I drive toward Palm Springs or LA.

Sorry for throwing this thread wildly off track, but regarding the "Wrecking Crew" showing in Carlsbad - the filmaker, Denny Tedesco, is presenting it along with his guest, "famed session keyboardist, Don Randi."
Turns out Don owns the Baked Potato where the Knobs played back on Feb 4. I just love it when there are unexpected connections like that!

Thanks Linda, that was interesting!
Since I was just mentioning Buffalo Bros Music store to Barb in another thread, this caught my eye:
"In general what we perceive is a kind of renaissance in guitar making," said Tatiana Sizonenko, curator of the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, [CA]..."I checked out their website, and they are screening "The Wrecking Crew" on the 25th. It's a film about session musicians in the Sixties, that I remember Ape mentioning on facebook last year. I'd love to check out the museum, and really love to see that film!

Great info, Marcia! Thanks! I'd love to have the opportunity to go. I'll have to look around for Blue Buffalo Guitars. There's a hyperlink in my previous post to their website.

Barb,
The one I went to was the inaugural, and afaik, it was open. My bf worked for Taylor a lonnng time ago, but he's friends with the Blue Guitar owner and that is how he found out. Oddly, the Blue Guitar isn't listed as a dealer on the R Taylor site, but Buffalo Brothers Guitars in Carlsbad is! You might ask them, or-
Maybe one could could inquire through Taylor's site, since there isn't contact info on the R Taylor site.
I will be sending some pictures to the sales rep tomorrow - I will ask if they have a schedule yet. It sounded like they were going to have one for each dealer, and there are about 16, iirc.
If Buffalo Bros is having a presentation, I'd like to go again!

Welcome back Linda! Sorry to hear you were so laid up, but glad to know you are getting better! We missed you. I prescribe a good Knobbin'! Cures all ills!

I am having my CPA doing do them this year, but since my taxes are so much simpler now, I may do them myself next year.

My website's rebuilt (whew!). Didn't get around to the Taylor pictures. I'm sitting with a friend's mom today, it would be a good day to sort all those pictures.
-

Does anyone else think she looks like one of those "real girl" dolls in this picture?

My VW Jetta was Hecho en México.

Finish rebuilding the website, Fill out gallery contract and deliver it. Email pics to Taylor guitar and the Blue Guitar.

Same as nurk, whatever came on the phone. Apart from my ringtone, I don't care much about customizing the looks of it. I just got this phone a couple weeks ago, but I didn't change the wall paper on the old one either.

I've always loved Taylor being as they're a local brand! The presentation at the Blue Guitar was fun and interesting. It was the inaugural of what is going to be a series of presentations showing off the R Taylor 'boutique line' of custom guitars they started building several years ago. Taylor makes about 300 in total of all R Taylor models a year, as opposed to the 500 a day that come off their production line. There were about 20 people there, and after the presentation by R Taylor Rep Mike Lille (top), the guests got to try them all out too.

:055: Beautiful works of art.
