  1. I woke up this morning with no complaints, my how quickly that's changed. Just found out that instead of dividing our area and giving one region a new area code, the phone company is going to do an 'overlay', which means current numbers keep their area code, new ones get the new code, and even local calls will now require dialing the area code. Which means fixing every stinking local number programmed into in my phone so it complies. It goes into effect in 6 weeks. This is an area larger than several East Coast states (mine is larger than Rhode Island alone). I think they could have done this a little differently. I also found out today (thanks for the head's up SquareOne!) that the person who took my dinner reservation 2 weeks ago for Friday night's show, neglected to tell me that I needed to buy a ticket at the same time, even though I told her we making the reservation so we could see the DKs. Still waiting for the callback to see if the person I talked to today can still get us in. She said they only had one ticket left at the restaurant, but sounded confident she could get me another. Ah, the little bumps along the way...
  2. I am so sick of Blue Cross, sorry, Anthem /Blue Cross. When I sent in the new premium payment, I forgot to add on the $2 extortion fee, sorry, the $2 charge for not letting them automatically deduct payment from my bank account. They sent me a check for $27.47 with a note that said "Insufficient Payment", plus my premium statement that came separately on the same day, had an added charge of $27.47. WTF? Why couldn't they just add the $2 onto the premium with a reminder? Or maybe call me? They probably spent more to do what they did than just waiving the fee this time. I'm still trying to get my premiums lowered too, by joining their HSA, but they are taking their sweet time getting back to me on that.
  3. Where I come from that's called a molestache. Poor Randall looks like his mom dressed him, otherwise I kinda like the look, in a retro way. And OMG! Is that Mike with that huge smile? Thanks SLQ!!! :023: Oh, and too bad these aren't in color - those are fried eggs on Tom's shirt aren't they?

  6. Isle of Wight in mid June, and for the rest of the year, one of those islands privately owned by a gazillionaire. With wifi.
  7. "Seven more days, all I gotta do is survive" 4 and counting now...
  8. official press release http://rootsmusicproject.wordpress.com/2009/03/16/new-bob-dylan-album-to-be-released-april-28/ guess it's officially official now, since they are speaking officially. The fourth in the trilogy (tip of the hat to Douglas Adams) I really like the cover, btw.

  11. About every 3 months I go in for a highlight and trim. Going tomorrow as a matter of fact, I think I'll have a few extra inches taken off, the ends are getting ratty. I only just started going to the hairdresser's for tints to cover the gray a couple years ago. Before that I did my own trimming; I don't like fussing with it, and it's been long and straight with bangs for ages. Sometimes I think I ought to do something different, but I have no idea what - it doesn't hold a curl and perms burn it up (it falls out in clumps). Mine grows fast too, but my roots aren't dark so it isn't so noticeable. I'm surprised at how seldom others' get theirs done, I thought most people went at least every month.
  12. The official annnouncement is up: http://www.bobdylan.com/
  13. Can I bring anything? Besides my voracious appetite, that is.
  14. The last time I was in a record store up here was when there was one called the Blue Mill by the downtown Stater Bros. :icon_redface: I believe there is still one by the Radio Shack.
  15. "Hey!! How's it goin'?" Down the tubes I afraid, but I'll get over it. Getting Knobbed this weekend will certainly help.

  16. Is it in Westfield? I think I've seen it. Is it even going to be open a month from now? I was at Westfield about about 3 weeks ago, and it was empty of shoppers. El Paseo was packed, even mid week (my mom needed something she could only get at Saks, honest). Even though the site I linked to is in the UK, it turns out the Dylan singles may not be available over there, so I'll probably be picking a few up for friends. Ohhhh, Hossssmannnnn.....: http://www.vinylfevertampa.com/
  17. I just stumbled across this and thought some folks with deactivated radios might be interested: "From March 12-26, Sirius XM is offering a free preview of its service on all of its radios nationwide." http://siriusbuzz.com/sirius-xm-should-stop-blaming-others.php (if you read the article) Apparently I'm not the only one who feels like she's in the dark half the time with these people.
  18. I'm Freefallin', which is pretty pretty much spot on. Just in a different context, but still.
  19. Our last dog was a German shepherd/ golden retriever mix. When my husband and I got so busy with work a year & 1/2 ago, he started going over to the Buddhist monastary next door, until eventually he didn't come home at all. He's a people dog and there's people and activity there all the time. He still comes over for a visit a couple times a week, stays for a few minutes, then moves on. Some day I will have to take a picture of him with the monks; his black and saffron coat matches their robes, it's kind of funny how he blends right in.
  20. Also, amazon is listing the album with a title (no artwork): Together Through Life in vinyl, Deluxe Edition CD +DVD, and CD. Edit: The bonus is a DVD, not a CD.
