This one's for you nurk! And it sounds like seltaeb is a guitar fan too. Good thing Mike had his nails done before the show. Whatever it's heritage, that guitar's been around. It wasn't quite as beat up as the famous telecaster*, but it has some battle scars and a pretty grimy fretboard. Those white specks on the body aren't photo flaws or flash reflections - they are chips. I can't wait to see other people's pictures. There were lots of shutterbugs up front. It's been awhile since I used the 'big camera', so it took awhile before I got the settings right. I expect we won't hear Brandon's story until he gets back to his computer in Montana - but he's getting another Knobbin' tonght! Edit: I meant Broadcaster. D'oh!

Best Show Evar! It was really great and I too wish we had a setlist - I would say about half were Beatles' tunes, or close to it. I knew them all, but the only one I really remember that I hadn't that heard the band play before was She Said She Said, because also Tom spun it on Buried Treasure this week. Then there was Working Class Hero, and the birthday boy, Swampfox, sang Hey Bulldog. It was great to meet some new folks and see some I'd met before. It's too bad more people couldn't make it, the guys really played their hearts out as always, but the crowd had thinned out, probably because it got so late. Not that I'm complaining, because I hate crowds my self. Brandon and I got to meet Mike and Jason for the first time (thanks to SquareOne and Pettyphile), who were both very gracious, and the last thing the Apeman said as he left was something to the effect of, "I'm just a monkey, that's all I am", which I naturally found humorous. My satellite connection is lagging worse than usual, but I managed to upload a few pictures: Happy birthday, Matt! (sorry the picture's not so good - my flash didn't quite reach that far)(yes, I succumbed to using my flash) Not my best group shot, but was a bunch of characters! I love how the guy on the far right was just lovin' it all so much from beginning to end!

1. Other than the official start of spring on the calender, what really signifies the start of spring for you? When the fruit trees start to bloom and the rest leaf out. 2. How severe is your spring cleaning bug this year? Not very. Although when it starts to warm up I want to be outdoors doing yardwork. 3. What one thing says "spring" to you more than any other? There's just something in the air, I can't describe it. 4. What are your springtime traditions? None 5. When do you break out your spring and summer wardrobe? When the temps get up to the 80s (we've had a couple this week, so we're on the cusp), then I look at my lily-white, bristly legs and cry. It's unfair that men don't have to worry about whether they want to be comfortable or presentable.

I have a cat named Gizmo too (named by the people who rescued him) although he goes by many names: Gizmodo, Spazmo, Gizzard, Gizwald, etc. He's a long haired siamese that our neighbors found hiding under their barn. My husband brought our other cat home about a month ago. The previous owner had her house foreclosed on, so he brought one of her cats home. Her name is Mia, and she's a dark tortoiseshell. She's almost black except for a little white and tan on her chin and the bottom of her paws, and her coat is flecked with gold. Gizmo is feisty and tries to dominate, while Mia is panther-like and could beat the crap out of him if she wanted to. They haven't decided whether they like each other or not.

Not the European tour, I think. It starts on the 22 in Stockholm, and the Knobs are playing in Yucaipa and Mentone on the 20th & 21st. This makes it very unlikely that Mike will be involved then. Also, both of the tour band's guitarists have confirmed that they are on the tour. Within recent memory, Bob hasn't played anything off a new album until after it's released and a new tour starts, and the latest album isn't being released until April 27 (28th in the US), which is 7 dates before the end of the tour. Bob's already signed up for the Rothsbury festival in July, which hints at a summer US tour of some kind. That's when I would expect maybe a new lineup, new songs, something different. I don't know if Bob would pull a Rolling Thunder type tour on us or not. Seems unlikely.

...Or he was loaded to the gills on rocket exhaust fumes.

No, and I probably never will. I thought about it in my 20s, but could never settle on anything. Then it became trendy and I lost interest in it.

That's great! ...and an album too. -
Major artists are making concerts more affordable The sudden mass shift to such largesse stuns me. :117: (I have no idea what that emoticon means, I've just wanted to use it for a long long long time.) I like how they've spun this to make it look like the artists are doing the fans a favor. True in some cases, but not all I think, mostly it's just simple economics.

Shhhhh, you'll bring on a migraine. No, that's not funny, is it? Seems like lots of people are having lung and sinus infections that won't go away. Rosie at the bank has had it for a month now. That can't be right. Get well soon Linda.

Sad for the bat, but it does remind me of the end of the movie Dark Star. If you are already doomed, what a way to go! http://www.theofficialjohncarpenter.com/pages/themovies/ds/ds.html
