I just got back from a local musician's record release party, which was special in itself. He has also started a local newsletter, which was on display, so I picked one up and as I thumbed through it, I saw this, and recognized the name immediately: I don't know what Tim's relationship was with Duane Jarvis, but I found the unexpected, simple memorial touching, and wanted to share it.

Romeo Delta April Shows - UPDATE

How's about Pappy and Harriet's Pioneertown Palace? Hmmm, maybe for the Fall Desert Classic Tour, then. I think it's just great you guys are planning to hit the road. There's gonna be some happy Farmers and fans out there. -
I have an iPod video (precursor to the Classic), still going strong. Great to have a gazillion songs and a few movies with me at all times. I'd love to have a Touch when the drives get bigger, or an iPhone if they weren't so expensive.

Tonight we're going to Tim Easton's record release party. :034: Possibly catching Brant Bjork at Pappy and Harriet's later for a live taping. Tomorrow, probably catching up on housework. Blech.

Sweet, Wildflower! Thanks for sharing. How can people sit on stuff like that for 12 years before sharing it? What is this impulse control people speak of? I'll check out the dummycast website later, there may be more jewels hidden in there.

1. Ladies and Gentlemen, do you wear perfume or cologne? No. And when other people douse themselves with it, it hurts my sinuses. Particularly if it's the stuff that smells like a swarm mosquitos have been vomiting Back Woods Off!®. 2. What brand or kind of soap do you use most? Burt's Bees Body Wash (say it 3 times fast, I dare ya!) 3. Do you use anything to scent your home (air freshener, candles, potpourri, scented oils, etc.)? I have one of those renuzit things in the 'cat's shower stall' where I have the litterbox. It helps a little. Also some kind of spray (the brand varies) for the bathroom. My husband is the one for spraying chemicals all over the house though, in the name of Disguising Odors. I prefer isolating the cause and dealing with it that way. Just take out the frigging trash why dontcha? 4. What's your favorite scent on a member of the gender to which you're attracted? I like spicy musky after shave, as long as it's used sparingly. Just good ol' soap and water is fine too. 5. Have you ever tried aromatherapy? If so, describe your experience; if not, do you think it might work?

I can only pick one? At this very moment, it's work because I just downloaded a clients' banking info and some moron sat on 3 checks from 7, 8, and 9 months ago before cashing them. It happens too often and I am perplexed every time as to why people do this. A business is not your personal bank - only with no service fees. If you receive a check for services rendered, cash it! Don't foul up someone else's cash flow for your convenience. Geez. Finances: yeah, when you find yourself as a marital unit living off savings with no end in sight (well there is an end to the savings actually, and that is scary too), it's stressful. Health: I wasn't feeling well last night, but I am still trying to get a cheaper plan, and if they see that you've been to the doctor lately with a complaint, even if you are already enrolled in one of their (more expensive) plans, they deny you automatically. I found that out last month, so I guess I'll have to rely on prayer or something to heal me. Feeling better this morning, thank God. I'm afraid if we let it lapse, we won't ever get insurance again. Also a word to the wise: if you or a family member has a drug or alcohol problem, DO NOT seek treatment, it is an automatic denial from insurance companies if they see you have sought treatment and are now clean and sober. F*cking great country we live in, ain't it? On the plus side, I get to whine even though it isn't Wednesday! :023:

Oh you wicked, wicked man! The monks next door have a wax figure of one of their late teachers in their meditation room. It's kinda creepy. It's also a cottage industry in Thailand. Huh. http://www.bangkokbaby.com/bangkok-city/human-imagery-museum-thailand (caution!, link goes to wax figures.)

Romeo Delta April Shows - UPDATE

I'm going to a record release party for a local musician I really like on Saturday, so it isn't like I'll be bereft of tunage. I just wish I didn't live so close and yet so far from LA. If I were a little less skint, it wouldn't matter so much. I was this close to going to Angel's, when things changed drastically between Friday night and Saturday. I was excited that RD was playing so much closer to where I live. It will happen again, one day. -
I couldn't pick one. Obviously a city that is known for it's music industry - NYC, LA, and Nashville, in particular, are going to attract musicians. Cities known for their freewheeling youth cultures like Frisco and Austin are also no brainers. Even Branson has a 'scene' that appeals to a certain type of music lover (it just isn't me). What I find interesting is when a 'scene' or trend emerges seemingly from out of nowhere in places like Athens, Seattle, Lawrence KS, Minneapolis, etc. But then the cause of all the excitement all flock to NYC, LA, or Nashville, seeking fame and fortune.

Manny's Music Store in NYC to close in May
weird monkey replied to WildflowerNJ's topic in Anything That's Rock N Roll
That's sad. Sadder still is the penchant in this country to pull down beautiful and/or historic districts and put up featureless slabs. -
Rewind time, definitely. What's a drag for me is being stuck in a lease when the work I am doing isn't even covering the bills right now. It's a torturous tortoise race to see which runs out first, the lease or my savings. Hopefully things will get better for us all really soon. At least there's no snow on the ground.

Thanks for giving us the head's up Dave, wish I could make it. Someday soon I'll make it to another show. Great picture from Angel's on the News page, btw. -
I'm sorry you lost your friend, but the sentiment is true, I believe he is in a better place, a place free of worry and pain.

No.

I love Bill Maher. I saw him live last year on stage (not at his show), and he was even funnier. He needs to bring back the 3rd guest though.

Relic posts his images off site and sometimes the server goes down. I checked another thread with his pictures, and they aren't showing up either. Just keep checking back. Im sure they will be back.. -
