Big Blue Sky got a reaction from toshi in Benmont's Summer Tour 2019
Okay, so, here are the songs. I take it from the absence of mention in Peterdimples review that Benmont didn't mention anything about not filming? The last one is "American Girl". I haven't actually watched them yet myself.
Sorry, Shelter, nothing on Joy Division yet.
Housekeeping - someone on YouTube called "demand" posted some random electronic noises, labelling it Benmont Tench San Raphael 2019. I don't swear much but that's fucked up. Seriously, what a waste of time by this "demand" person, whoever they are. Such people don't show any basic respect to the very musicians /artists they might claim to be a fan of - their actions reflect poorly on themselves.
Alright, put your hands together for Misterrrr Bennnnmont Tennnnch‼️
    Lucille
    Corrina Corrina
    Roll Over Beethoven

    China Doll

Well, its always Tom Petty time for me as I never seem to get tired of listening to him and the Heartbreakers, so I decided to do a rare (for me anyway) craft project.  I had found the Pizzawednesday stickers on etsy and couldn't bring myself to deface a TP record so I found a reproduction American Girl sticker on the site as well, add one clock mechanism from Michael's and some 2 way tape to get the placement of the stickers right and there you have it, my custom Tom Petty Clock, the album was an old LP that was scratched that came from one of my uncles that passed away some random compilation so I didn't feel too bad sacrificing it for the project.  I've messaged with Pizzawednesday and they plan to eventually do Howie and Scott as well as the new guy so for now I'm holding off on applying the actual stickers to the record and using the 2 way tape to hold them.  I think most of the stickers are still available in the shop if you are inclined to try and make your own.  For a while I had Tom, Mike and Ben but when they released Stan it threw the original design off so I got the other era Tom's to help bring it in balance.

I'm not much a fan of California per se but I sure wish I lived there sometimes when I see the DK playing out there and Ben and a host of other smaller shows with similar acts...

Well, speaking as a big fan of California myself (I hope they get out before it's too late 😁 ) but not sure how it matters, or why I open this post that way, I really can't wait to hear Ben's take on Love Will Tear Us Apart.
Yet, wait is what I'll do. Inpatiently. That being one of the best ever tracks, now done by the world' s probably best and most... well.. Key player.. makes it endlessly intuiging to me. (As soon as a video shows, please drop link here, anybody!)
In addition to that, thanks kindly for the report in all generalness. Love keeping track of where the road takes Ben these days!

I went to the Chapel last night and it was a very moving show. He played a number of great new songs, so it was a great way to experience them for the first time. "Dogs on the Run" was dazzling.
Benmont stayed and met fans after the show for quite awhile. Could not have been gentler or nicer. He told me he's particular excited to play in Big Sur tonight.

Hi, as we know, our favourite piano playing legend (drum-roll) Benmont Tench (applause) is currently touring along the Northern California coast.   According to setlist fm, on 18th July 2019, Benmont played these songs at The Chapel in San Francisco! 🎹🎹🎹
Love Will Tear Us Apart (Joy Division) interesting song choice, not one I would've thought he'd go for  I Will Not Follow You Down Welcome to Hell (Mudcrutch) Veronica Said I Want to Know Why Love Is Not Enough If She Knew You Should Be So Lucky Wobbles Lucille (Little Richard) (with Sylvie Simmons (?), ukulele and vocals) Shot of Love (Bob Dylan) Corrine Corrina  Dogs on the Run (TPATH)  yay!! I love "Dogs on the Run" from "Southern Accents" album. But was it that one - or their other song by the same name??? Roll over Beethoven (Chuck Berry)  The Melancholy Season Dogwood This Is a Good Street (Mudcrutch) China Doll (Grateful Dead) Pledge American Girl (TPATH) Someone's posted on YouTube their audience videos of Corrina Corrina, Roll Over Beethoven, China Doll & American Girl. I'm just pausing on that for a moment, though. Respect.... Unlike during Mr Tench's last tour, I haven't read anywhere that he has asked people not to share footage of him playing his more intimate songs, including American Girl. Sorry, too many negatives squished into one tiny sentence! In other words -  what's the go? Shall we assume it's standard mobile phone bootleg & it's okay to repost songs from YouTube... unless we hear that Benmont says something about this issue during a show? I think last time the issue was about allowing himself to be particularly raw & vulnerable onstage for one song for a very special live moment.
Anyway. I sure hope it's okay to repost, especially if he plays Dogs On The Run again & someone records it! I will plotz! (translates as "explode with joy").
In other, kinda unrelated topic, I listened to The Beatles Live At Hollywood Bowl album this week. Sure, it's one thing to know that audiences screamed the whole time. But actually hearing the screaming, soaking through the Beatles' music, the whole time, is so intense... It's like a wild animal or a howling wind, it has a powerful life of its own. I felt deeply uneasy ...& that's me listening in the safety of my home to a recorded concert years later. My sympathy is absolutely with George Harrison!

I faced the same problem. I was looking for songs to play at my wedding, rock ones were preferable, cause of my fiance. And though most of the songs here https://www.poptop.uk.com/blog/top-18-wedding-songs-to-make-your-day-extra-special/ are pretty good, it's hard to define their genre.

    Hey Everybody!

Just came across this forum and really like what I see, so I’m hoping to become a part of this community.
For our first post just wanted to share with you guys an iconic piece of Tom Petty history, his original Flying "V" guitar that his logo is based off of. This is the Flying "V" that was first photographed with Tom Petty EVER. This is an iconic piece of Tom Petty history. It is also believed that Petty played the guitar too. Check it out: https://www.gottahaverockandroll.com/Tom_Petty_Original_Iconic_Gibson_Flying_V_Guitar-LOT28489.aspx .

Shit! I'm getting chills right now thinking of Ben being in the DK and maybe hitting the HOB in Boston. Hell I'd pay good money to see them play at Fenway again!   😎💘  Is the new guy drumming for them still or was that a guest gig?

Edit; Better yet (and its a terrible fit) but nonetheless would be awesome have a tour with Ben as opening act and then join the DK on their set!

This is a clip from YouTube. As I mentioned in a recent post elsewhere, the fella in the hoody is a musician who uses his teaching & performing knowledge to analyse his favourite players / performances. Sometimes he's insightful.  Sometime he pretty much just smiles and enjoys the show & gives some factual background. Which, ahem, fans are likely to know already. Given that, he has a quiet positive enthusiastic vibe -  I haven't seen one where he rips critically into a performer, so if you want that, look elsewhere
interested in watching Melinda?  (spoiler alert) this is one where he's geeking out and enjoying the moment.  So don't expect anything too deep.  Having said that, as always, yes, their playing is a masterclass... amazed & impressed by just how much communication is going on between them all.  And wow notice how well they're all controlling tempo and volume by creating rapt near-silence just before Benmont's solo explodes.
