From Feb 2019 Billboard article. For Adria, meanwhile, "For Real" sounds "like an epilogue from the grave. It's him looking back on his career when he was putting a compilation together, and here we are digging it out, getting this incredible viewpoint of being an icon, having this huge career, summing it up in this really elegant, meaningful, sincere way. We weren't even sure it was finished when we first found it -- the production was so spare but so beautiful. It's something we wanted to share as pure as we found it."

Ha - thanks for that. wasn't there a time (early on) when TP said the crew made him cardboard signs so he'd know which town they were actually in. "I'd say Hello Tampa, but it'd be Jacksonville instead." FM're a whole different band from TPATH, with a whole bundle of issues. Still, if we're being optimistic here, they all seem to be getting on okay, for now, which is a plus. This newspaper review (below) focuses on the one & only Mr Campbell. Which is only fair since it's for concert in Tampa, Florida. He gives a little speech, takes his hat off & bows, ovation from Florida crowd, burns solos including great work on Oh Well, lots of love for him. 👏 If the link doesn't work, just search Tampa Bay Times & Fleetwood Mac & 2019. https://www.tampabay.com/music/review-fleetwood-mac-remade-and-re-energized-salutes-tom-petty-at-tampas-amalie-arena-20190218/

What Music Are You Listening To Right Now?
Big Blue Sky replied to Refugee's topic in Creative Corner
Because of Cameron Crowe's "Roadies" tv series - episode from Phil's early days on tour with the original band ... they ambushed Rolling Stones at Knebworth Festival. This is one of the songs from that day. -
I'm still blushing from my goof. Okay, these guys are doing a great cover. Jacket from Plantation tour. Darn, looks nothing like... 😀
-
Good pick up folks. Getting it wrong on Dylan and TP. I hear the hiss of indrawn shocked breath... No excuse. Still, let's see what we can salvage... Call off the dogs of war... Don't set the gators onto my lawn... Planet suit ✔️ Plantation lots of fun ✔️ Dylan's evening ✔️ TPATH performing Licence To Kill ✔️ Vedder performing Masters of War ✔️ & saying later it was that night they met TP & got to hang with him back-stage ✔️ TP wearing dark tailored jackets during performances in both Plantation (lined with confederate flag pattern) and Dylan's Bobfest... I think that's what tripped my tired brain into thinking they were only months apart. Not years 😀

Lyrics from Casa Dega which i definitely do love. Well actually, when deciding on my online name I kinda wanted a funky noun... so I felt adj adj noun works.

Like the man said. (Long & intense working day here, if I may offer that as a feeble whimpering excuse)
-
Favourite cover moment: Masters of War at Bob Dylan's 30th. They perform it completely straight down the line & with sombre gravitas (if I may be so bold). Which compared wildly with the pizazz of their then-recent Pack Up The Plantation tour (with fabulous planet suit).

Oh God, all those other ones mentioned are all so good.
-
Hats off - that's very purist of you. Added advantage: no barely remembered weird dreams. Against that, what about the more recent ones of them playing live in Clubhouse? Do you count them? They're terrific! I love their earlier MTV music videos. They're mostly awesome & no scantily clad models (unlike others of that era). Highly recommend "Face In A Crowd". Obviously "You Got Lucky " is definition of weird/cool.

Musical instruments all set up on a grassy lawn (or sports field). Overhead a drone flying back and forth trying for perfect image. Rising higher and higher in attempt to get them all in. Eagle slides by out of the cloud and - pow - eagle talons wrap around & capture drone. Last flickering image is of eagle's beak ripping camera off drone.

I watched Good To Be King music video carefully for first time in ages. It's now giving me the 6 a.m. wake-up heeby jeebies two mornings in a row. So: coffee at dawn, always good! ☕ (but only because of waking from unremembered weird dreams) I never warmed to it back in the day & now I find it seems way more unsettling than any of their other ones. I think it is maybe those staring faces & the flooded post-apocalyptic area where the toy pedal car is pulled out of the water. Also, I am a total baby about films with suspense and horror.

Oh, I would've put money on you nominating Mary Jane's Last Dance.

If tied up, tortured & held to ransom... I probably still couldn't chose a favourite. Maybe Crawling Back To You. The character does feel a longing for the other person & keeps crawling back... and is that a good choice or not? Also why are they waiting by the side of the road & how did they get there? So I'm delighted to see handwritten lyrics / extra verses in American Treasure. Quintessential... 3 "significant" songs for lyrics for me are these ones. Insider then Something Big as early moments when that storyteller's imagination was roaming free of the 3 minute pop / rock & roll song. Though... sshhh I want to love Insider more than I actually do. I mean, I appreciate it, but I don't love it. Southern Accents as a totally believable song from the heart. It's when (for me) they really started to fly in a different way from before. Actually, not flying by flapping away but flying by soaring effortlessly way above. "The Yankees call us dumb."

Hey now, to be clear, I do not endorse the one above. That's the Chipmunks at high-pitched falsetto - a novelty track. This one...Chipmunks' cover of Refugee slowed down to 16 speed is what I'm talking about. It's described as a sludge-fest... Just give it a try. Sung by a sloth, not a darting chipmunk. Possibly a sloth called Leonard Cohen.
-
Woah... definite recommendation there - Chipmunks' cover of Refugee slowed down to 16 speed (found on youtube, has 40,000 views). Runs for 6 minutes. Is amazing.

OK great -thanks I'll check it out!

...And how they'll beg you for the answerBut it won't ever be enough, there's no way you could ever tell 'emIt's just dogs alpacas/llamas on the run farm harvesting the songs is such a cool image. I'm keeping it for future use! Thanks to glendevon.com (llama farm in Mendocino) for these (below)

BONUS-The Complete Esher Demo's
Big Blue Sky replied to nurktwin's topic in Anything That's Rock N Roll
Marvellous! Good find. When you say it stopped after a couple of songs, well, here some of songs (including song #3) won't display. "Video unavailable - the uploader has not made this video available in your country". But that's okay - viewers can just skip to next song in the sequence. Beatles' music is always welcome!! 🐞 Thanks so much. -

By the way, did you mean "cute" doggie? I just pinch myself that they keep filming snippets and sharing them. How lucky are we? How generous are they? How much of his heart can the man communicate through his music? It's amazing seeing these posts all one after the other. Glad you all like them too! My thought is that maybe the Fleetwood Macks' rule is: "everyone in the band needs to work their social media". If so, it's just awesome that MC's "tour diary" is so uniquely about him & his love of music & his friends & family & dogs. Not show biz or gossip. (So far). Yet these relatively humble & grounded choices make him even more of a legend in my eyes. -

Agree! Mike's just as bad ass as anyone else - he's just doing his thing in his own special way. I especially admire how the Campbells (ie Mike and Marcie) are sharing his ups and downs. You know, wow, those moments of deep & raw mourning (like playing "Can't Stop The Sun" & "Johnny B Goode"). And just as honestly, those moments of crazy silly fun. -
