  1. That's not really a lot of money considering expenses, but it's nothing to sneeze at. I don't know how they divvied up the money in the band and who got how much of a percentage.
  2. Prayers for Tom Petty - 1950-2017

I know exactly what you are saying. I felt better knowing he was alive. I grew up with him. He's a few years older than me, and I know what you mean about the old timers dying out. They're irreplaceable.
  3. Messages from Mike & Benmont ❤️

Mike, your guitar playing saved my sanity this year. I'll always be grateful to you for that. Thank you. Your guitar playing and Tom's smile - a winning combination.
  4. Prayers for Tom Petty - 1950-2017

Mike Campbell's guitar saved my sanity this past year. I owe that man a lot as well as Tom. Still having a hard time shaking off his death. It seems to hurt worse now.
  5. I loved it. Still do.
  6. Prayers for Tom Petty - 1950-2017

I've been waiting for a Stevie statement too but haven't found any yet. Maybe she's too broken up to talk about it yet. They were friends for a long time.
  7. Prayers for Tom Petty - 1950-2017

That's why I registered too, so I can have others to talk to about him. Tom was only three years older than me. I grew up with him. He wasn't supposed to die this young, and it just reminds me of my own mortality. I can't get the song Straight Into Darkness out of my mind - day and night it's playing over and over.
  8. Prayers for Tom Petty - 1950-2017

I registered here just so I could gush about this man and vent my grief where it will be understood. His music got me through the toughest months of my life. I'm really finding it hard to shake his death off. I would not be considered a die-hard fan. Never even saw him in concert. But there is something about him and his music. And Mike's guitar just gets to me. Anyway, here I am. We've lost another great who won't be replaced any time soon.
