Summerfest! I'll see the Flaming Lips tonight and The Avett Brothers tomorrow night. I'll also see Willie Nelson, Erykah Badu, Pretty Lights, Young The Giant and some other bands I've never heard of.

Rick, that sounds very exciting! What a great idea. I'm working, blah, but also need to run by the grocery store. Then one friend who is coming for the festival this weekend is showing up tonight and we are going to see Collective Soul!!

^Congrats. Empty nest? I haven't been to a graduation ceremony in years and don't have any planned this year, thank goodness!

I won't go out of my way to see the Olympics, but I'll probably catch something. I don't really have a favorite event.

I brush twice a day and floss once a day. When I complained to my sister-in-law, an orthodontist, that it was hard to floss my back teeth, she told me you don't have to floss all your teeth...just the ones you want to keep. LOL, I've flossed religiously since that day.

That makes me happy! This is so funny. I read about Steve Poltz talking about his friend Mike Campbell helping him with his last album Dreamhouse when it came out in 2010, so I looked him up, and now this is the same guy! He's got good taste in music for sure.

I can, but I've never had to. Seems someone always stops to help. I'm more scared of getting killed by a psycho killer than ruining my car, so I'd rather people not stop, lol. I am just now leaving the tire shop...had a nail and had to get a new tire.

SOhO is my favorite place, and I really liked The Mint, too. I'd love if they played at Rudyard's down the street from me. All the Farmers could stay at my house!

A man from southern Israel divorced his wife this week because she had brought 550 cats into their home. The husband, apparently not a cat lover, told the Rabbinical Court in Beersheba that he was unable to sleep in his bedroom because the surface of the marital bed was constantly covered with cats who refused to lie on the floor. The man, in his divorce request, complained that the cats also blocked his access to the bathroom and did not allow him to prepare meals in the kitchen, the Hebrew daily Maariv reported Wednesday. When he sat to eat, cats jumped onto the table and stole his food. The couple attempted reconciliation at the behest of the rabbinical court. Tonight I'm making BBQ chicken and BBQ tofu (yes, I touched chicken, believe it!), brown rice pilaf with broccoli, and Greek cherry tomato salad. For dessert, I mixed fresh berries and sliced Texas peaches with a little orange marmalade and Amarreto, and I'll serve that over ice cream for dessert.

My best friend and his partner are coming for dinner tonight. They are brining stuff to make berry mojitos, yum! Our good friends are staying on a boat down in Kemah, so we might go visit them tomorrow and enjoy some cocktails on the boat in the harbor. And, I have a new pair of hiking boots to break in, so there will be at least one long walk tomorrow or Monday.

Probably not, I doubt they'll come back to Texas. I'd love to go to a Cali show, but I dont think I'll be able to.

We already dropped the truck at the shop and bought groceries. Now I'm getting things ready for dinner, my best friend and his partner are coming over tonight. I am loving this long weekend!
