Ditto! Let's talk. We'll want to meet up before the shows, at the very least. Do you know that venue in Selma? I didn't even know they had anything out there. I'll try to do at least one trip. Other shows that look good to me are: Darien Lake (only because Beth will be there ) Denver (especially if it's at Red Rocks) The Gorge (thanks for the info, Nurk) Irvine/San Fran If Summerfest shows up, I might consider it I'm also considering Calgary, as I have a friend that just moved there I supose I'm leaning to the CA shows at this point. But who really knows. I'm like everyone else, my head is spinning!

Xanadu!! (not) Any Monty Python movie, really. But I'll pick Holy Grail.

I had not seen that. It's great!

^Yes, it's pretty hard to choose one, Emmie. I said creative expression. Last night at the Foo Fighters concert, I told Kay, "I want to be Dave Grohl". I would love to be able to create music and entertain people by touring it.

Yay! Summer festival line ups are starting to come out! Woo hoo! I wouldn't go to Cali for any of these artists/bands, but there are some good choice there. There several that I hope will come to ACL and/or Bonnaroo. I'm really excited to see The Racounteurs on the list!! Maybe it means they are touring this summer!!

I ficticiously called in sick to my first job at 16 and they wouldn't put me back on the schedule until I came in and talked to the manager. I don't know if that was the general policy, or if they knew I wasn't really sick. But I didn't want to find out so I never went back. Was I fired, or did I quit? lol. But then on my next job, I was fired for something my boss THOUGHT I did. He was a gross philanderer and was cheating on his wife and 9 children with a woman he was representing in a divorce that had 8 children (he was a very sleazy lawyer). He took the mistress and her children to 6 Flags one weekend and stopped off at his adoptive parent's home on the way. Well, as soon as they left, the adoptive parents called his wife and filled her in. She confronted him about it, but didn't mention where she got the information. He assumed that since I had access to his personal schedule that I told his daughter, whom I had remained friends with throughout the whole sordid affair. He called me into his office and railed at me for several minutes before saying, "I don't need someone like you around here. You're fired!" I could have totally defended myself because I knew already how his wife got the information. But why would I want to? He was disgusting! Ok, totally not my fault, but it still pisses me off 27 years later!

I really try to avoid chains. We now live in the area of Houston that has all the really great locally owned restaurants and I love it.

Thanks, Ames! I'm a tortured, tortured soul that is dying to see Watkins Family Hour. Thanks so much for your view of the evening. I'll get to a show someday, I just know it!!

I don't remember - I rarely have major fits. I'm sure it was over something really stupid, though.

Patty, I'm so sorry to read this. I'm glad you could be there caring for your mother, even at the end. It must be so hard right now. I wish you strength for now and peace in time. (((Patty))) Thanks for letting us know, Emmie.

This one is my all time favorite because of the description they created for it. PORTRAITURE #6 Madonna with Smile Wood sculpture with felt tip by Unknown 6"x2"x1.5" Acquired by Scott Wilson at church sale Much controversy surrounds the history of this piece. Whether the work of a single artist or two artists separated by time and place, the piece succeeds in transforming a simple icon into a mysterious yet radiant image through a few quick dashes of the pen.

I've accomplished a lot, both personally and at work. It's been a little too busy, but over all, I'd say it's been very good so far.

Teresa's Olan Mills thread reminded me of this website that I love. http://www.museumofbadart.org/

55 at night and 70 during the day. I really don't like running the heater, it feels so stuffy. Good thing we live in Houston.

I thought about it in the past, but now politics just bore me.

I'm planning to reread my David Sedaris books. I'm sure there are more, but I don't want to think that hard right now.
