I said bathroom. I like the style of most of my house, but the powder room is a little jewel box and I just love it. It's red, black and purple. And here's my favorite thing in the room. Pooch Smooch by Jim Tweedy. (Sorry for the glare.)

Great article! I sure hope they tour more in the fall. And more recording? Wow!

Tom Waits announces rare summer tour
LizzieB replied to Refugee's topic in Anything That's Rock N Roll
I don't know, Sharon. He's already got that acronym based on tour cities.... You are all welcome to come stay with me in Houston! -
Oh, gosh. I had forgotten about Above Water. That would be so nice to hear released on an album.

1. Describe where you grew up: The suburbs of San Antonio, TX. Just a normal 60s/70s neighborhood with lots of kids. It was fun. We had lots of family in town, and that was fun, too. 2. Do you wear any jewelry? I love all things sparkley! Besided my wedding ring, I wear different rings, earrings, watch and necklace every day. 3. What do you have too much of? I could make a list a mile long. I've got so much crap and not enough energy to get rid of what I don't need. 4. Who is a fool? I like the "everybody at some point" answer. I know I've been a fool many, many times. 5. What's your nickname? Liz and Lizzie. But I loved it when a co-worker jokingly called me "Elizabitch" once, so I made sure that one stuck, lol. When I was growing up, I hated being called Lizardbutt and Lizardbreath by my cousins.

No, it's just an election year gimmick.

Tall Skinny Vanilla Latte. And my card is registered, so I get the vanilla syrup for free. But I'm of the camp that thinks Starbucks (or *$s, as I like to refer to it) isn't that great. But there's no better alternative near my office in Houston, so I go there everyday. In London, I enjoy a nice Illy's latte every day.

Hey, Kira. I loved reading your review. I'm so glad you and Billy got to go and that you had such a great time. Isn't Mudcrutch the best???
-
Yeah, Emmie, she has that heroin junkie look to her, just like Howie did, sadly. That's very sad and I hope she gets it together before the smack does her in.
-
Yes, of course! I have it pre-ordered.
-
Sweet! I can't wait to hear your review, Ryan.

While nothing can recreate the joy I experienced hearing it live, I'm really enjoying the Santa Cruz version off DAD. It's pretty awesome.

Zombie, do you remember how happy I was in Santa Barbara? You just made me that happy all over again! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Oh, can't they just tour as Mudcrutch this summer? I love this band so much!!!

Here are my photos. I didn't take many because I was so mesmerized.

At the end, Petty, bearded these days, was asked if he had a great secret motive in reuniting a band that he remembered but his fans didn't. He smiles and shrugs. "I decided to trust my gut instinct which told me, 'Do something fun.' " And fun it is, for everyone! Thanks, Linda. And enjoy the show tonight, everyone that's going.

Those are fantastic, ZZ! Thanks so much for sharing.

Catching up. Sorry I missed your Bday, Ryan. I hope it was great, you deserve it!

Also catching up. Glad you are feeling better Emmie!

Thanks for the review and pictures, Marion. Tom really was smiling a lot! I'm so glad he's enjoying this. He's a prisoner of his own success with TPATH. I hope he's loving it enough to make it happen again in the fall. I love this band!!

Forgot to say, I'll post some pictures when I get back to Houston. I love yours, Marion!

I suppose you were next to Zombie and I, then (row G). If so, thanks for standing up all night with us. We had sitters all around, but we just persevered. John said when the lady behind him said to sit down, he told her just stand up. LOL. This was such a FUN weekend! Just what I needed with all that has been going on. First, it was great to spend time with Athena, Susie and my awesome concert buddy, Kay. We always have a great time and this was no exception. It was great seeing so many Farmers, and really nice to finally meet Gina, Teresa, Lotta and Ellyn in person (did I forget anyone else?). We had quite a group there! Katie, your mom is a blast. Tell her hello for me. The concert was fantastic. As I've been saying to some, this is the answer to the hard core fan's desire to see something different by our favorite guys (plus or minus a few). It was thrilling to hear SO MUCH new music! You realize just what amazing musicians these guys are when you hear something totally new and not the same stuff we've heard 1,000 times. It rocked me to my socks! Everyone seemed to be having the best time, us and the band. I'm sure Tom P, Mike and Benmont are enjoying this freedom as much as we are. Tom L and Randall are just amazing. I keep thinking of something Kay said. How much fun would it have been to see this band back in the day at the local Gainesville spots? Wow, I can only imagine how much fun that must have been. They are so good together!! I'm just glad they reunited and treated us to this mini tour (and fingers crossed they'll be able to do more in the fall). So, my very favorite song is Crystal River. I'm so glad to read that the album version is very much like what they play in the show. That song is so completely different than anything TPATH does, and it's an amazing showcase for Ben and Mike. It just blows me away listening to the interaction between the two of them. (I've been listening to the Santa Cruz boot off DAD, which I highly, highly recommend.) It has such a mellow vibe, I keep thinking there's no need to smoke pot, just put that song on. And I just have to mention Ben's little display when Tom L forgot to introduce him. LOL. I've never seen him so animated. That triple turn at the end really cracked me up. I expected him to dance a jig before it was all over. But I think he did it to take the pressure off Tom and give him a little time to regroup. What a thoughtful and kind thing for a long time professional to do for someone that hasn't been performing to huge crowds for the past 30+ years. I just love Ben! I can't say enough about this band and their music. Man, I'm completely in heaven with this! I wish I were going to another show. All you still waiting for yours are going to LOVE it!

Thanks, Nancy. I haven't watched it yet, but I know I'll love it. Crystal River is my very favorite Mudcrutch song. I'm in heaven when I listen to it on that DAD Santa Cruz boot.

Thanks, Linda. Loved reading that. I love this band!!!

Love it. Thanks, Ref! I think I need to get some Western wear for tonight so I can match the boys.

Sharon, that was so much fun to read. I am SO EXCITED about tonight. I'm starting to get giddy! Can't wait to see you and all the other Farmers at the show.
