Well, we are back home and I am so drained. I think the contest KGSR had was much easier than the one going on. Good luck. So I waited until 6:30 and then declared myself a loser. Barf Boy was playing a happy hour gig and he played Mary Jane's Last Dance once I declared self a loser. Mom and dad were at gig and daddy concurred that I lost. I was getting over it with a glass of wine and my cell rang. It was Jody Denberg telling me I won. I ran outside to hear the conversation and barmaid followed to retreive my wine. Came back in and Barf Boy declared to the bar I was a winner and we're going to Hollywood. I turned back on computer to post here and parents were reading. Barf Boy explained what and where the farm is and mom got mad that I was calling her dear son-in-law Barf Boy. So he gets the grown-up name of Barf Man or maybe just Crash since gone from barfing to wrecking my car. Anyway, Warner Brothers is supposed to call Monday to set it up (doesn't that sound cool). I will post as soon as I get the date. I called my boss to tell him I won and he called back to say we could drop Crash a postcard - otherwise I don't get off. So I quit. haha! He said I could go because everything is about me but.........to forget about my Grand Canyon river launch date in March 2010 (been on wait list since 1994) Sorry, rambling. We're going to Hollywood!

Oh man, good luck! KGSR has a contest going in Austin. On the 6:00 news, they talk Mudcrutch and then ask a trivia question. Then they talk more about other music news. At the commercial, they take the 7th caller and whoever answers correctly wins the Mudcrutch cd. Today, they will have the last triva question. Of the 5 people who have won over the week, they will draw for an all expense trip to LA with tickets to show! Yahoo! So I've been down in McAllen, TX, listening on streaming audio and working two cell phones to call in - never getting it. Rushed home from trip and arrived at 5:45 last night and got computer up and running with about 6 minutes to spare. Listen, anxiety! Fiddle with phones - get numbers punched in - now home phone and 2 cells working.............What is the name of TP&HB box set...................... blankkkkkkkk brain! Not working... Panic.......Google search ( I guess I could have run upstairs and looked but probably would have fallen on way down). Oh yeah! Playback..........Time to call!!!! Anxiety.......busy...........busy...........busy What's the name of the box set? Playback?? You're the 7th caller! Congrats! What's your name and age? So now I have a 20% chance of going. Well, I've been worried, anxious, sad and depressed as mother was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer a few weeks back. just returned from appointment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and joyful news. Tumor not growing and they will do another MRI in 4 weeks. The tumor could have been there for years since most will have grown from MRI 1 to MRI 2. So MRI 3 being scheduled in May. Will decide about biospy and radiation then. We are all happy yet exhusted.

I live between Austin and San Antonio. I'm more tied to Austin because I work there and Barf Boy goes to school there. Each has a different flavor. San Antonio has a strong Mexican culture and history and better museaums Austin has a laid back, casual side, is more intellectual, political, and green. Also great music every night of week. I like both but enjoy sitting on hilltop of private retreat called home

I haven't seen several of these. I'd go with Godfather too. I'm don't watch movies where people are intentionally mean to each other. Those kind of films make me anxious and ususally have to leave the room.

one more - roughing it is having to break the ice off wetsuit before putting it back on and getting into kayak to paddle for day.

haha! Considering when we first moved into house, we had an extention cord plugged into the pole outside for light, a porta-potty, and a cold-water shower from hose (until December) roughing it can mean many things. I think roughing it is camping in wet and cold for days without more than tent and fire for relief - that bone-chilling cold that's hard to shake. In the heat, it's being in the jungle with so many biting insects that feet and legs swell up and make it difficult to walk, despite putting 100% deet directly on skin. With hiking it's having blisteres rubbed raw to point of bleeding and still miles to go.
