Under all conditions, absolutely not! First I would have to clean like the dickens. Oh yeah! The pre-vacation clean. Then I would have to clear out all the sex toys, take the trapize down, hide all the rubber suits, and make sure the sado/masochistic whips and chains were put someplace where their children would not hurt themselves. I would have to hide all the crown jewels and stock certificates we have laying around the house. Frankly, it would be more work than it was worth. Then I would get to their house and wonder if they had cleaned. And I would spend the entire vacation looking for their toys and secrets.

When I read the question, I thought it was most disgusting landmark as opposed to the most distinguishing landmark so....I have three - actually Disgusting landmark -the over-tall Dariy Queen sing... The town made them lower it and passed an ordance on signs. Distinguishing landmarks - Two win the prize! Wimberley Market Days - 1st Saturday of each month - hundreds (maybe even a thousand) of vendors, music BBQ - all with proceeds of parking and meals to benefit social projects in town - sponsored by Lion's Club of Wimberley Wimberely Blue Hole - one of the best swimming holes in the state. Sold several years back and now a nature preserve with local funding and TX Parks and Wildlife. Open to public for $5/person during summer. Man, oh, man - a 72 degree dip in the river on a 98 degree day - Remarkable!

When I was young my dad was often gone with work....in those oilfields way back home....so then it was my mom. As daddy rose on the corporate ladder he was home more often and so could participate in dicipline. That's when I wished he were gone more. When he got involved, my brother and I got scared!

I agree with everyone else. I think we need some road repairs.

I'm enjoying reading where everyone grew up! 1. Describe where you grew up: called a bedroom community of Corpus Christi, TX - Portland, TX. A small town of 7000 with the elementary school across the street - a block from the beach and about 12 miles from Port Aransas. Like Nancy, we had a street full of kids and we played well into the night. Sometimes set a tent up in the backyard and slept outside. Heat, heat and more heat with all the humidity you can handle. While you northerners were ice stating, we would ride our bikes around collecting discarded Christmas trees (left for trash pickup after Christmas) to store in our fort. There were be kiddie block wars as we stole each others trees. This would continue until school started back - winner had the most trees. Another activity was to head down to beach for some mud-sliding on the dunes. We had one dune (mix of sand and clay) that formed a natural slide. We would haul water up from the bay to turn the slide to a slick, clay mud and spend the day sliding down. Always meant some torn jeans by the time done. 2. Do you wear any jewelry? My wedding ring, earrings, and a dimond drop that was my grandmothers. 3. What do you have too much of? certainly not time - so will go with pounds as that's the easiest to obsess on and the hardest to work on 4. Who is a fool? we all be fools in one way or another 5. What's your nickname? it's hard to rhyme with Kira..........a few people call me Kira--bonga or a Spanish version of Kira.

Sorry about that, I didn't change the names to protect the guilty. Barf Boy carries a name outside of here as Billy. I have other names for him too that I won't post.

This is a review of the weekend and thank you note I sent to those who sponsored the contest. Sorry so late but have been work and family slammed since return Billy and I had a lovely mini-moon over last weekend as we were swept off our feet, blown into Hollywood, and amazed by the groove of Mudcrutch. We had a blast and can’t thank you all enough for the trip. I wanted to give you a recount of the fun adventures of the weekend. We arrived at LAX around 1:30 Friday afternoon and headed directly to Hollywood. We decided to head to Hollywood Forever and check out the graves of movie stars of yesteryear. I guess Billy and I are a bit morbid but we thought it would be easier to find the stars if they were not moving. Beautiful grounds to walk through as we searched for stars interred in crypts and the ground. I’ll send some pictures as soon as I get them uploaded but we saw Victor Fleming, Don Adams, Johnny Ramon, David White (Larry Tate of Bewitched) and the 2nd Darren. After leaving Hollywood Forever, we grabbed a pizza and then found the Grand Ramada – an art deco hotel. Again, Justin thanks for getting us within walking distance of The Troubadour. We headed towards the club for a look and had a riot people watching as we traveled. I now understand why my boss threatened to fire me if I did not take him instead of Billy. In Austin, it would be like Oil Can Harry’s on steroids. We found the Troubadour around 6:00, and the line was already around the block for people to get in. I met a woman from New Jersey who had been in for multiple shows that posts on Mudcrutch Farm website where I’m also a regular. We talked to people and then headed back down Santa Monica Blvd., but not before taking a side street and being awed by the flowers growing to mammoth proportions in the desert. Billy and I landed at a bar called East West for people watching. Now Billy had left his nursing rotation at Austin State Hospital (state mental hospital) early that day to catch the flight. We noted several people who were enjoying the voices in their head as the walked the strip. Sure enough, one came up to chat with us as we sipped our drinks. He appeared particularly interested in my breasts, called me Mae West (a bit off on that call), and being bare-chested, proceeded to twist his own nipples and tell us how much he enjoyed that too. Talking peace and love, he left for a side street and vamped his shirt on either side while dancing in the street. We hoped he would make it through the night without a trip to Hollywood’s version of ASH. Saturday we awoke. We decided against spending all afternoon in line at the Troubadour and headed for Venice beach. Lovely breeze, fun muscle watching and more people to enjoy. As a swimmer had been fatally attacked by a great white the day before in San Diego, we were surprised to see so many surfers out in the water. Just beyond the breakers, Coast Guard patrolled the waters and helicopters made routine flights for good measure. From there we headed to Beverly Hills and drove through the mansions. What a site! Very different from our small, hand built home in the hills of Wimberley. We continued on to Hollywood and Vine and walked the streets looking for Tom Petty’s star. While we didn’t find it, we did find John Lennon, Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. Billy took my picture at Rock Hudson’s star for my mom as she requested. WhooHoo! On to the show. I couldn’t wait any longer. We got to the club around 6:30 and there were probably 45 people in line. We passed the time talking with fans, and in particular, a couple with whom we had spent eleven hours at the rail with when Tom Petty and Heartbreakers played Austin City Limits. Just before the venue opened, a man came by for VIPs to take to another line. I asked if that included Mudcrutch Flyaway contest winners, and he took Billy and me to the VIP line. Justin, that was just too cool. Thanks so much. We got in and I snagged a spot between Tom and Mike. I have to tell you, that is my favorite place to be in a concert. Our rail buddies landed just behind us and only a security person stood between me and the stage. Our security, Scotty Allen, is also an actor and just filmed a pilot for a new sitcom called Singledom. We will look for him. The moment we had been waiting for arrived and out Mudcrutch came. They started with Shady Grove – a fave of Billy’s since The Darlings (The Dylans) did Shady Grove on an early version of Andy Griffith. Next came Scare Easy. I had knitted Mike a guitar rag and rolled it onto the stage. He picked it up and read my note of gratitude for the show, and I have to tell you, I went into my somewhat autistic Tom Petty trance. Each song sounded great and Billy held me from behind so I would not engage in head knocking as I swayed from side to side. You know the songs, and each one is a gem standing on its own. My fave is Six Days on the Road. Before we could imagine, the concert ended. Billy bought a shirt, and we headed back into the venue. Benmont was there talking to people and signed Billy’s shirt. Scott Thurston was there and I introduced myself so have now met all Heartbreakers but Tom. We talked with people and exchanged cards with a few. A public defender from Albuquerque gave Benmont his card and asked him to email the photos Benmont took from his piano. If he gets them, I will forward to you all as we were unable to take a camera in. We had a leisurely morning Sunday and headed for the airport. We arrived in Austin, and Billy headed home. I hopped in my car and headed for San Antonio where I have been engaged in conferences since Sunday. We had a wonderful time and thank all of you for the depths of our musical souls for such a glorious weekend.

Hey Ryan, Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. I can't add anything to his review. I tried to get pictures with phone camera but had not used it much and didn't know you had to save each one. Rats! So glad you found the star.

workweek almost over don't call mary p. on way home cause she works late tomorrow we go to Hollywood to see Mudcrutch
-
No but I should. Crash tells me I can't hear. I think he mumbles
-
It's over 25 miles to a movie place. We don't ever go so would not use the service.
-
Oh and someday, when he finishes school, I will have a cleaning service
-
Grunt! Touchy subject. I don't clean much. Our house is still a construction project and Crash leaves his tools around. Yesterday he grouted tiles that he put up by the stairs so there's grout around and industrial vac next to that and the bookcases he pulled out to work on it and all the tools. When I say tools, little and big things. I've learned to walk around and not get upset. I guess it's the tradeoff when one builds and finishes out the house while living in it.
-
Crash and I listened several times last night. He says "Shady Grove" was the song The Darlings (really The Dylans) played on an early version of the Andy Griffith show.
-
Yahoo! I'll learn the songs by Saturday. Sounds like a great dance band! I told Crash to bring his dancin' shoes. We're going in tie dye and acting like the old hippies we are!!!!! Wish I hadn't shaved my legs last night!
-
Not a chance!
-
Hum, who knows!! I could do without it.

Wow! One of the coolest things about the farm is we all play nice even when we disagree.

Well, stats can be manipulated by the how the question was posed. Now, to my nasty side! There are many, many productive people out there. I also believe there are people who don't do much with their lives - filling it up with tv and mindless dazing into space. (have you seen the tv lately?) They are going to average out the productive people. Ask people what they did over the weekend and they will tell you nothing - maybe a lazy answer to the question. Maybe they didn't perceive what they did was of value to the questionior/survey. Even if I'm pulling weeds, engaging in play with hubby or dogs, or knitting a washcloth I consider each of value but I'm not going to spend lots of time telling others about it. So the question is for me - how did the survey define nothing?

Monday and I've got plenty of food for my belly, shelter from the storm, good friends, health and family. What more could a person want?? Oh yes, I'm seeing Mudcrutch this Saturday!! We're going to HOLLYWOOD!
