I agree. The ages should match. 18 or 21 - they still seem like babies to me. Cried this morning on way to work listening to two boys from same, small town killed one day apart in Afganastan.

Finally finishing a novel. It was difficult to maintain a level of dedication to writing. Now, ugh! I have to work on trying to sell it and I think that will make writing feel easy.

The waiting is almost over. Can you believe that day back in Jan or Feb when we sat at our computers, nervously, waiting for that 10:00 to roll on and and try out luck with that nasty Ticketmaster.....the angst..the horror...........the fret of anticipation................and now the day is near.

I'll ask a girlfriend about Dallas locations. It's over by the market and world trade center, I think. I looked for hotels a while back but have slept too many times to remember. There are lots of hotels in the area. The Marriott in Woodlands sounds great. I have a room there so Lynn and I will certainly have our party hats on. WhooHoo! It's a triple Tom treat!

Just found the thread. Barf Boy and I will be at Selma and Dallas. He starts school that week so we have to drive to Dallas from Austin and 3:00 and then home after the show. He can't make Houston so I'll be there with a girlfriend from Corpus - her first Tom Petty show.

I made a decision the other day. I think there are so many dire things going on and the administration wants us to be ruled by fear. I have been and won't be anymore.

Even lower-key than first choic. Nod and smile if someone talks to me. Sometimes wear shades to keep from making eye contact. Head in book, papers or computer. Anyway that says do not talk to me. I usually been talking in meetings or giving a presentation and I don't want to talk anymore.

My dad made me do it all when I was 16. Yes, I can. The problem now is many places use some electric (like a tightner hooked to a drill) means of tightening the lug nuts. They are so hard to turn by hand.

oh yes! There's a guy who lives 3 lots over and he's a real jerk. Then there's a elder couple that lives about half a mile away. Barf Boy took care of her in hospital and gave her a bath and wiped her tush so I don't think we'll be having coffee with them any time soon. Did stop and meet this one guy who bought the bottom land (also about 1/2 mile down road). He's a graduate student in geography and stares and chest when he talks. The woman right next to us (you can see her light if you look through the trees just right at night) might be ok. I met her about 12 years ago when she and her husband were building. They are divorced now and she kept the house. She has standing water issues because of mesquitos.
