  1. I agree with Liz and Magnolia - those good looking, older men who have just hiked into the wilderness with the misses on first day of retirement and ready to have a go in the woods, lake, mountain..........just lay down that sweater wrapped around your neck and take her.......doesn't work for me. So as soon as women stop worrying about accidential pregnancy (also lots of commercials regarding finding out if pregers or birth control) the men have to worry about penial dysfunction.

  2. Do you all remember when Larry Haggman flew to the top of the list? Both he and Mickey Mantel were able to get organs (liver or kidney - I forget now) when they learned they were ill. I remember there being controversy over weather those of wealth could buy their way to the top of the list. Then there was all this whoopla over the abusive lifestyles each had led so were they entitled to the organ. For me, it was not that you look at the lifestyle and history of abuse. I equally don't think it right that money is going to get someone an organ faster at the expense of someoe who needs it as badly and has waited a year to rise to the top of the list.

  3. 1. Do you prefer to eat chicken or fish? chicken

    2. Corn on the cob or off the cob? on the cob

    3. Do you own any wicker furniture? nope

    4. How often do you put things away? when the things start to drive me crazy or we have guests coming over

    5. Be honest, is it really better to give than to receive? It's really satisfying to watch the face of someone when you give them somthing they really like.

  4. I grew up calling it a coke. Now I say soda or call the drink by name. My grandparents from Oklahoma called it a pop or sody pop. Barf Boy's family from Iowa uses pop. I love regional dialect information. It's dying out with media and people moving.

    Do you say

sofa, couch, divan, davenport or some other word to describe that long piece of furniture in your living room?

  6. Kerrville is one of my favorite places on the planet. The music runs for 18 days and the campfires are as entertaining as the stage acts. In fact, you will likely see more people running around at 3 in the morning than you will in the afternoon - the heat can be brutal. That's when people head to the rivers to cool down or sweat in their tents so they can play all nights.

One of the best ways to experience the festival if you have never been is to volunteer for a crew. You will meet people from around the nation and the planet and make friends that will last a lifetime. That's where I met Barf Boy. Even the trash and recycle krews sing as they parade up and down the streets emptying the bins.

We are usually there between 8 and 11 days. You can camp there - it's tent to tent or there are hotel and cabins around. The people make it happen and it's a spirit of magic. If you want to know where the hippies have gone, they are at Kerrville....but careful cause that hippy could be a finance banker the rest of the year.

There are established camps around the ground. Such as camp Duck Tape, Camp Stupid, Camp Cusine, Camp Calm, Bush Camp, Camp Mocho Verde, Camp Bungee, and Lepord Lounge - each sporting their own music at night. At Camp Sweetness and Light - they are neither. Some camps have the musicians that were on the stage that night while others have aspiring songwriter sitting in circles, waiting their turn to play their song. Camp Peckerwood, hosted by Slim Richie, has swing jams.

And then there are the kerr traditions such as Wild Woman Night, Kerrdigrass, Watermelon sacrifice and masquarade balls. Each weekend, people are married at Chapel Hill and there is a folk service every Sunday. The festival host many schools during the week such a harmonica school, music business, blues guitar, songwriting, and critique.

What else can I say? It's a blast and so varied there is something for everyone.
