I tend not to read current media. Since I commute two hours a day, I pick up my news on National Public Radio. If I had all the time I wanted, I would like a mix of the two.....like Time and the New Yorker.

I would like it to be something cheap and useful....but I can't figure out what it would be......organic soaps and cleaning fluids....let's see how that works

Most of it does not leave the post office. I usually go once a week to retrieve it. I sort it and hand Bard Boy his. His sits around until I deal with it again. Mine is taken care of pretty quick. Left over stuff, in the winter, is burned in the stove and used to start fires.

Just got some sucky work news. Other than that, it was good.

Last week flew home from working in Albquerque. Had flown there from San Diego where I had been at a conference.

It took me 2.5 freakin' hours to drive to work today. When it's raining, would everyone on Mo-Pac slow down so we don't all have to stop when you freakin' crash!

Intersting question. I can see both sides of the arguement. The reason for it is to keep users out of jail. Austin just went to anything under 3 ozs is a ticket. Will be use responsibly. That said, the number one abused drug in the US is legal and it's alcohol. I think back to my drug counselor days and long-term effects on impairment of weed vs. alcholol demonstrated through driving and flying simulations. Those who had smoked had longer reactions and made a satisticlly significant greater number of mistakes even after 24 hours of partaking. It's a wash for me. I don't used because it makes me feel stupid. Tax money would be great. Can't decide.

I have three sets of keys. About 20keys. Most I don't know where they go - likely some padlock long since lost.

Since our kids are puppies at heart - never. Maybe when they get an opposable thumb and can use one properly and responsibly. Don't want them calling in the cats.

Ok, test junkie weigh in. yes and yes! There are two IQ tests - one for adults and one for children. If memory serves me correctly (yes..measured by the test to some extent) it is a battery of tests measuring different kinds of intelligence. Two subscores - verbal vs. spacial. The average IQ is 100. I believe the standard deviation is 15 points. IQ of less than 70 is the diagnostic for mental retardation. Over 115 is considered above average. Tests are timed and the longer you take the lower your score. If you want to take an IQ test (just for grins but I wouldn't share your score) contact the psychology or educational psychology department (within the graduate department). Graduate students have to give x number of practice tests for a class and they are usually searching for subjects.

yes carol, that's so sad. I'm sitting in ABQ airport with a tired back and won't be home for another 6 hours. This will be a 14 hour day. I spoke to 55 people without a mic and some bozo was outside the hotel with a weedeater so close we could all smeel the fumes. Had to yell and now throat hurts and have lost part of voice.

Love the Natural History Museum. All the sparkling stones are so pretty.

I usually ignore. Will make fun of those who are really loud. The ones that sometimes freak me out are the loud talkers with only the earpiece. They look like borgs and then walking in airport talking to nobody. The hotshot sales people think they are so cool.
